Makes no sense, especially in the redzone

I understand that defenses do many things to take a receiver out of the game, but I am not sure that they are giving Pickens that much respect yet. But, in any case, as I have written in other threads, some guys you have to force feed, Pickens has that look. For me, I want Pickens and Friermuth getting 15-20 targets a game.

It seems like the Steelers take Pickens out of the game themselves. He was burning them.

It’s inexcusable that Canada has a weapon like Pickens and can’t figure out how to get him more involved. Hopefully when we get a real OC in here next year that will change.

Pickens is awesome! I knew once Claypool was out of here he would actually be able to shine.

It is funny that once Trubisky was in that DJ starting showing up more... it is crazy how some QBs just vibe with certain WR's over others.

Kenny has absolutely no mojo with DJ.

I doubt it. He'll be gone in offseason in my opinion

Not defending Canada, but most of the time, a play isn't designed to go to just one guy. The QB has the choice of who to throw to. Our QB's aren't going to him for whatever reason. I'd like to see the All 22 of a few games to see if he's getting open or if he's struggling with separation. A lot of QB's don't want to just throw it up. They want to see some separation, especially a conservative QB like Mitch

Agreed on the Qbs vibe with different Wrs. That's why I thought We should wait on the signing of DJ. You know not say no, but wait ,and see type thing.

Oh, I certainly hope so. He should have been fired last year and again this year. There was talk his contract runs through 2023 but I don't know for sure. If that's the case, he may very well get that 3rd year. It's not like Deuce cares.

We've gone from the 31st to the 26th ranked offense. He should be gone but you know how things go lol.

I’ve wondered that myself and usually perfecting their route running abilities is one of the more challenging aspects of making the leap from the college to the pro game. Pickens seemed to glide past the DB on the long pass today so how about we start with a lot more of that. Canada seems to be too dense to figure that out.

If that happens the Steelers issues are much more deeply rooted than any of us realize. There must be accountability somewhere and we know Tomlin isn’t going anywhere until he’s ready. Canada’s offense is very simplistic and limited and that experiment needs to end the day the Steelers 2022 season is over.

I assume you mean 15-20 targets between the two of them, not each.

Canada has a thoroughbred and has him tied to a plough what a dumb ass. If he is not getting open it is most likely the routes are too simplistic. I watch other teams and no matter who they are playing there is someone open on almost every play. Maybe run him on a quick slant oh sorry we don t use the valley of death.
I can't believe Canada got past the bye week it only took LSU one season to realize he was not good.
In the past few weeks they have thrown a few more passes down the middle but through the first 6 or 8 weeks they completely ignored the center of the field. A map showing the Steelers pass attempt looks like a horseshoe LOS and sideline routes, as a DC how easy is it to defend when you know they are not going to use a third of the field.
Other teams use the center of the field to march up and down the field against us especially.
How Tomlin is so stubborn or stupid to not see that Canada's scheme has a major flaw is ridiculous.

I am. Unfortunately there are people that post here with an IQ if 5 that would seriously suggest that 15 to 20 each is realistic.

Can we agree that Baltimore controlled both line of scrimmages?
and if your the QB you trying to make a play. Now granted in redzone M Trubusky
should have never jeopardized possible scoring opportunities.

Canada tried to make Claypool a small slot receiver, so I have no confidence that he knows how to use Pickens.
