When you have problems both offensively and defensively as we do, you must have a punter that can flip the field
Harvin does not do this. I have seen enough of him.

I've been watching the WC Soccer and I'd bet a ton of those guys with some training could punt great in the NFL.

Presley is just very up and down. Had the punt of his life last week at the end of the game.

This week. Shanked one for 17 yards....

But, that is a lot of players on the Steelers.. one week they look like some of them turn the corner...

Then the next week is like they take two steps back...

I’ve been a Harvin supporter despite the miscues. However, you don’t kick a 17 yarder and expect to keep your job. It’s time to change

He either boots a gorgeous punt or it’s something I could do sitting down in my house. Not sure how that happens or possible. 17 yard punt in the nfl? Most teams would have cut him a long time ago. But here we are.

That punt against Atlanta says different.

I think it's consistent punts he is lacking. There are some real gems in there.
Generally I agree though. Special teams is based on consistency and he needs to improve.

We had a good punter before Harvin replaced him.

Inconsistency is overcome by practice, practice and more practice.

If by now, after years of practice, practice and more practice, the punter has no consistency then he plain sucks.

of course, it’s possible he’s not practicing enough….

Y'all do know the punt didn't just travel 17 yards. That was with bounces and rolling in the wrong direction, right?

It was a horrible punt, but also, what the heck were the guys in coverage doing?

I know, it was even worst that just a 17 yard punt… he spun it like it was gonna land at the 1 yard line except it landed near midfield and bounced back.

in his head, he’s thinking he’s booting it 70 yards down to the one, in reality it landed at the 40. Lol

The recently departed Ray Guy has to be spinning in his grave after witnessing (ok perceiving) what his namesake College punter award winner has been up to.

I figured my statement would get a rise out of some. I supported him because of pure potential. The kid didn’t win the Ray Guy award for being average. Somewhere along the line, he lost it. Maybe a change of scenery is needed. I remember Younghoe Koo kicking for the Chargers and couldn’t hit the side of a barn from 30 yards out. Now he’s one of the elites.

Doesn't matter. All I know is that from the punting teams LOS to where the ball was downed was 17 total yards. I believe that is the only thing that really matters. I would think punters should be able to kick the ball in a manner that it doesn't bounce in the wrong direction. Well, at least most of the time. JMO>
