I am hoping the Steelers jump out
to a large lead early. I fully expect SD
to pack it in quickly and start thinking about
their golf games.Don't let them hang around like we
let these other teams. Why can't the Steelers ever have
    any breathers?

because they have no killer instinct.. they cant or wont deliver that knock out punch early... they let the bad teams hang in there then lose a lot fo the games they SHOULD WIN BIG by a FG at the end of the game or in OT.... as far as an early lead.. heres a question for the stats gurus here... when is the last time the steelers have had MORE THAN a 14 point lead in a game at any point?

We ALL hope that the Steelers can jump all over SD early, especially older fans like myself. Last weeks Ravens game nearly caused my heart to burst out of my chest. Even after the game was well over, it still took me about a full hour to get my heart rhythm back to a modest pace. And now its only going to get worse because we have still not sealed ourselves a playoff slot. Each and every game from here on out is essentially a must win (with the exception of maybe one as long as its not Cinci) With that said, our one loss could be Cinci (depending on their finish) and we very possibly could still get in. Anyway, lets just take care of the Chargers first and hope that Cinci can lose to Dallas.

True - and same here, EXCEPT - last week I expected that - and in fact, I was glad that they were still in it. When they went down by 10, I expected the game to be a loss. So, the fact that they were showing the tenacity to stay in the game and then WIN it was a pleasant surprise to me.

If they do the same thing this year, I may just need to go out an buy a new T.V. before the day is over, because I may end up throwing VERY heavy objects at it.

I think starting around 2008, the Steelers have had to rely heavily on their defense to win games, and for a couple of years, the defense was SO good that the offense didn't have to do as much. It seems like that has now been the mindset for the last 4 years, if not longer (even with a couple of weaker defensive years), and I think it has affected what kind of leads they get.

Pretty easy - both Jets and Redskins games this season.

But I agree for the most part, we do let the lesser teams hang around too much. We should be blowing them out.

I think we ultimately win but I doubt it's a blowout. We're coming off a very big, emotional win. I remember getting a similar win aganist the Ravens a couple years ago and then getting blown out by TEN the next game.

I think we probably let them hang around but rivers throws a bunch of ints and we win going away

I say put them away the first 15 and send out the 2nd string to cleanup after the half! :innocent:

I would like this too....however, that hasn't been our M.O. on the winning side, nor San Diego's M.O. on the losing side. As bad as San Diego's record is, they were right there with Cincy, they collapsed (and then got jobbed by the refs) against the Ravens, and the huge collapse against the Broncos after building a huge lead (all at home, I think. Chargers fans must LOVE this this year). I'm rooting for the big win, but will take the 11-10 controversial no-Troy touchdown game if it comes to that....

I was just making light of the scenarios..with the damage on the o-line surely will be soft.. our D will rattle Rivers every chance they get..he don't do well under pressure i can see TP having fun this game. i'm seeing a comfortable win @ Heinz just need to point up early don't like ANY team hanging on or near our shirt tails. The Bungles (divison) is the one that concerns me, though being a home game gives me alttle more ease of the mind.

I live in So California. As a result, I don't get to see my beloved Steelers "live" very often. Since I must get my "football fix", I go to a few Chargers games each year. Trust me...we have nothing to worry about! I was "scouting" at the last two Charger home games (Bungles and Ratbirds) and the Chargers looked terrible! We will have no trouble dispatching them...especially with Ben and at home. I wasn't surprised that we beat the Ratbirds on Sunday because both teams looked like 3-8 teams two weeks ago. The Chargers are the ones who have consistently given up and died at the beginning of the 4th quarter...week in and week out. They were done the day they let Denver come back on them. Now, Norv Turner and AJ Smith are gonna be fired. This is a listless, unmotivated team with no weapons on offense except for Alexander (WR), who they picked up a month ago. Their defense is decent, but we shouldn't have too many problems with them.

    GO STEELERS!!!

We lost to the raiders AND the BROWNIES. The way we play 'ranked last', 'turnover machines', and teams with a 'losing record', I d be 100% happy if we kicked a field goal with 1 sec to go and won by ONE point. No way in heck at this point in the season and the way we played am I going to get greedy and ask for a blow out. JUST FRIGGIN WIN!!!
