That's quite sad for the Rooney family. The obit is a little strange in that while it's quite detailed, it does not mention a husband/father of her children and the cause of death was still being evaluated. She seemed to be quite successful in many different arenas. Thoughts and prayers to the family.

Nothing worse than a parent having to bury a child. Condolences to the Rooney family.

I really hate to hear that and to bury a child would have to be the most devastating thing I can even imagine. Being a preacher I've had to deal with a lot of people that have lost kids and there's no more helpless of a feeling than trying to comfort someone in that situation. One of my favorite preachers of all time was a man named Herschell Hobbs and in his autobiography he said that he went to visit one of his church members that had lost a child. He said she was weeping and he sit down and tried to comfort her and told her that he knew how she felt. She said "no. you don't know how I feel." He said a few years later he and his wife lost a child and those words came roaring back to his mind. I'm sure all of our sympathies and the players sympathy as well are with the Rooney's but Dan Rooney at this moment must feel like the lonliest man on earth. I hope he can hang in there and find some peace in this situation.

    RIP RITA.
A father should never have to bury their child. Been there, done that... it sucks.
