Sorry if this was addressed before the opener with Denver, but I have a question on this year's schedule and an inconsistency that I noticed.

The last time we played the entire AFC West division was 2009. In that year we played SD and OAK at home and we played at DEN and KC. The way the schedule should work is the next time we play the entire division, the home/away are flipped. So why did we once again go at DEN and are hosting SD? Does anyone know?

As my wife often tells me - I'm clueless.

Just a wild guess, but it may have been determined by where each team was, in the standings, the prior year.

I wondered the same thing all year about the San Diego game since I visit California a lot this was a game I had picked out to go to before the schedule was released

I'll say it before anyone else does... because Goodell hates the Steelers.

I know where you finished in the standings impacts who you play from the divisions in which you don't play the entire division and there is some kind of rotation there on who the North hosts, who they go on the road with, etc.

But when it's the full division it seems to ALWAYS alternate based on where the game was played last time. Even for this year's NFC East, we have WASH and PHILLY at home where as in 2008 we had DAL and NYG at home.

Just doesn't make sense to me. Glad I'm not the only one!

It should be flipped but it's obvious the schedule was fixed up so Manning could have his big comeback win at home against the Steelers the same steelers the broncos beat in the playoffs the year before when it should have been the Broncos coming to Heinz Field. Think about it when was the last time Broncos came to the 'burgh? 2006 was it? Schedule was fixed for Manning's big comback game in denver.

I think Peyton was still a Colt when the schedule set.

well now my conspiracy theory sounds foolish but still boggles me how Denver hasn't been in here over 6 years.

I don't get what that's about either, considering the serious advantage that Denver has playing at home, you'd think they'd be a little more fair with the scheduling.

Not sure about Denver, but I know that in 2007 Pittsburgh played Seattle at home and then when they were scheduled to play them again in 2011 it was home as well. Can't remember the reason why though. Something about too many trips out west that season? Im looking now and trying to find out.
