Snell and McFarland seem better than Harris to me.

I wouldn’t. He was good last year and has had an injury this year.

I know what you mean. I actually think there is not much difference between them. I lean towards McFarland.

najee hesitates, doesn't hit the hole or find the secondary gap.

unrelated but a lot of divorces are caused by people finding the secondary gap.

Something is not right with Harris, he does hesitate too much, at this point he should be subbed more often then he is. He was also doing some of that last year. Other backs are proving there are getting the same or better results then Harris. Play them more.

I noticed that Harris is much less hesitant near the goal line. Then his only mindset is getting the ball across the goal line as quickly as possible. It's the rest of the field that he seems hesitant.

In what way? There were absolute gaping holes on some of those plays. They both played well for back ups, but Najee has the ability to get more yards than is blocked for him while the others cannot. I was as upset as anyone at Najee's lack of production early in the year, but based on how he has looked the last few weeks.... I am buying that he was hurt. He looks WAY more explosive. I still think that Warren should get a fair share of touches, because he is a great complement on the ground (and can gain more yards than are blocked for him), blocks and catches well.

Harris is far, far, far away from being behind McFarland and Snell

If Snell and McFarland were the answer... they wouldn't have needed to draft Harris... we have seen what Snell can bring.... he was the#4 back even in that game...McFarland played before him.

That being said.. they had a great game, but I still don't think they are close to Najee in talent.

When Najb is in the D plays with a target on him... when he is out.. the box is not as full most of the time

i wasn’t talking about raw ability. I was just saying the backups and practice squad RBs seem better to me, and have been more productive, than Harris this year.

the coaches should prioritize winning and production more than raw talent. The reasons are irrelevant why player A does better for the team than player B - just use player A.

by that account we would've benched Ben at times for the likes of Leftwich and Batch. If they continue to outperform Harris then sure, but you cant just based off of 6 carries by McFarland and 12 by Snell. This is also the same Snell that averaged 2.7 yards on 36 carries last year. He barely made the team. The O-Line blocked super well and Snell/McFarland got what was blocked for them. Happy they played well, but I'm certainly not ready to give them bigger roles.

I get the sentiment, but if Snell/McFarland were any good they would've gotten carried before Harris and Warren (rookie UDFA) got hurt.

For as against drafting an RB in the first round as I am, it's not time to call him a bust. We have had a putrid offense, line, and OC since he has been here. Lets fix the crap around him first. If he still cant succeed, then its time to call him one.

He has looked night and day better the last 3 weeks. He definitely was hurt and it affected him. Absolutely no reason to give up on him yet.

It was one game. All three players have a body of work that makes it clear that Harris is a much better back than Snell or McFarland.

Sure... it's just that this entire season, whenever someone else runs instead of Harris, there seems to be an improvement in the outcome be it Snell, McFarland or Warren. Better blitz pick up as well.

All I care about is winning the next game, not what happened last year or the year before.

They are 4-7 with no real shot at the playoffs, so short-term, short-sighted thinking makes no sense.

Snell has done this before. He has had the occasional big game surrounded by a large body of work that demonstrates exactly why he is a No. 3 running back who keeps his job because he is good on special teams. McFarland isn't even that. Anybody with any sense is going to need to see more than one game from those two to think they are the answer.
