that trap block leech laid on hampton was an incredible block. I thought leech killed hampton. it was the best block I've seen since our dan kreider laid one down on Ray lewis back in 2001. I haven't seen our guys give that kind of punishment in a long time.

I hate to give any of them credit but it was nice. That being said Mclendon needs more reps, you can't tell me Casey isn't gassed by the 4th quarter. They run away from him anyway,I would think a guy with more speed and quickness with the ability to penetrate would serve us better ,especially late in games.

That was a nice block, but it look a lot worse than it was cause Hampton was off balance and didn't see the block coming.
I don't think he could do that to Hampton if he was straight on.

Give credit where credit is due. That was an awesome block. It was actually kinda funny to see Hampton get pancaked like that. I'm not sure that's ever happened to him before.

Yup, awesome block! I got crushed like that once on a kickoff coverage, was keying in on the returner and some dude wallopped me from the side. Never saw him coming and was flattened. Like an accident, I was loose and not expecting it so no injury at all, maybe my pride a little!

I thought the Ravens won the physical battle that game but we scored more points and won the game. Are we losing our physical mentality?

I just wanna see more McClendon! Every time I see him coming on to the field I get really excited. Even as I type this there is a Jack Nicholson in the Shining type of a grin on my face thinking of what he could do to a qb. The actual term for that Nicholson thing is called The Kubrick Stare. McClendon makes me do the Kubrick Stare. I like it! I want to see him slamming Flacco over and over and over. TTF was talking about some push that he got yesterday and said people should rewind their dvr's to watch it. I can't remember what play it was exactly.

Great block, so I give him all the credit he deserves, but it has no business being compared to Kreider's block on Lewis. Kreider pancaked him straight up, man to man. They were running at each other, Lewis took on Kreider, Kreider picked him up, drove him back, drove him onto the ground, and fell on top of him. This was a great block, but it was a blindside block more in line with what Hines Ward used to do on a weekly basis. Nice job Leech. As for Hamp and McLendon, I agree we should be seeing more McLendon. He's the future, he's fresh legs, and he's up for the task. It'll keep Casey more fresh. All that said...

Hampton had a pretty great game, I thought. As ugly as that play was, I thought he made Matt Birk look ugly for 4 quarters, including the very next play after this one (you know how Casey works). *Edit: it was Yanda he abused the following play.* So I want to see more McLendon, but let's not lose sight of the fact that the old man is still kicking some ass out there along with the rest of our D.

The big question in my mind is, how come we never do running plays like that? I watch a lot of 49er games, and they have an incredible rushing attack, and they do stuff like that ALL the time. I'm not sure why the Steelers view traps as a once a year running play. You don't even need a special kind of lineman. You just need someone who can do the crackback block, and we've got plenty of guys that can do that (Heath, Will Johnson, Redman, possibly Paulson, plus any OL players that might be capable).

Bring back the trap! Franco Harris rode the trap play all the way to the HOF. There is no reason why we can't once again make it a staple of the Steelers running game, especially with athletic guards like Decastro and, dare I say it, Pouncey.

The 9ers running game makes me jealous if I'm being completely honest. I've loved Frank Gore for a LONG time.

Agreed... And Man do I wish we had Aldon Smith! That guy is insane. I think I watch him every play like I used to with Troy and Harrison.

Yeah I've been saying for a while how it makes me mad to watch the 9ers because they play Steeler D! We used to play that kind of D! Remember that? It was awesome! Even though we are ranked high and playing good I just miss the fact that we used to get so many turnovers and sacks. A few years ago you knew that even if the O turned it over the d could get a quick turnover and get us the ball back. Now it seems like we just keep them from scoring but don't get the ball back and then all that time has ran off the clock. I just wanna see us getting more turnovers and scaring the ever loving crap out of people. The 9ers do that and I think for the most part the Bears do too.

Yeah Leach is a beast. As we saw, he has some good hands out of the backfield too... That play where they fake off takle to the left and throw to him on the backside picked up 5-10 yards I think 3 different times.

49ers make me jealous in some ways too...they remind me of the early Cowher years. Tough running and hard hitting D. But you can't be too jealous because we have Ben and they don't ;)
