Go back a couple of weeks and look at the routes under Mitch as well. There was one play where literally the slot receiver on a shallow cross first ran into his own man and basically created a pick play that took them both out then he continued on and ran into the back who had released to the flat and turned up the field. Wht do you design plays that do that and as a player you run that route as well

I know I sound like a broken record, but this is all stuff I brought up last year ,and got laughed at, and told it was Ben's fault.

I also wonder if that is where the receivers are supposed to be. There does seem to be some communication issues with people being in the wrong spot. Maybe one of them was supposed to go deeper. Though probably Canada, might also be the players sometimes.

I'm sure some of the times it's the players, but not alway.

I don't think the issue is the specific play but how it illustrates a flaw in the offense. They still seem to be unwilling to attack down the middle of the field most of the time. When they do, it is almost always Freiermuth, not the wide receivers. I don't have a problem with the specific play, but I do think they need to attack the middle of the field more.

Seems that "I'm An Idiot" would be the most qualifying statement on a resume when interviewing for a position on a Mike Tomlin staff.

Canada is the same guy who motions the offense to draw MORE men into the box....on a play where we're running the ball. Dude's out of his depth. I'm not even mad at Canada anymore; he's just incapable of doing a good job. My frustration is aimed towards Tomlin. Canada was a bad hire from the jump and retaining him was a bad move.

It's designed and it's not very good. I'm not saying it's all on Canada but the dude is horrendous at his job. The offense has problems of its own, but I can imagine we'd be pretty damn good without him.

The part of drawing more guys in on the D for the run is very frustrating, and something We were doing last year also. When I brought this up last year.....again broken record.....I was told.... its because nobody fears our passing game. LoL....I tried explaining our offensive sets are bringing more into the box's, but.....Nooooooooooo
STD is foolish , and just makes excuses for Ben.
When I said this was all brought up when He(Canada) was at LSU.....I was told college football doesn't count.

Yes it's a bad play call but there is also blame to go the OL and Najee as well. Looking at that screen shot and they should all identify what they are seeing.

    1) Cole as center there is no one over you. Daniels doesn't need help for his man as that guy is lined up in the gap between Daniela and Chuks. His man should straight up be the middle linebacker

    2) Dotson needs to get into his man quick and turn him outside creating a hole for Najee.

    3) Moore same as Dotson get into your man and turn him outside and seal the hole.

4.) Najee should see that even with a bad playcall to the weakside they were giving up the gap between the center and left guard. That's the sweet spot hit it with speed and power. The lone defender then has to hit Najee in the open and try to slow him down. Not happening enough to prevent a 1 yard gain.

I agree with Essex to a point but some bad fundamental issues.

Take a closer look there is a man right over the center.

Cole would need to win against his man and turn him to the right and Dotson and Moore double team their man and move him to the left.

You are absolutely right. I didn't see him. In the zoomed out shot looks like Cole's helmet. It changes things slightly but I'd still rather see him hit that gap and not try weakside where 2 guys can get to the line before Harris gets up to speed.
