I was a steelers fan before both of those guys were steelers. And yes I'm an NFL fan first. I love football. I don't just love the steelers.

He's shown some things but I just don't see special.

Under Tomlin we have always had 1 workhorse back. I really feel like it should be 60/40 harris/warren. It would extend Harris' rb shelf life and Warren looks to really run hard.

I think giving up 16 points to the dolphins when it looked like early on they'd put up 35+ is a huge W for the D. Obv they should have intercepted some of those balls...I think the bigger issue is 0 pressure on Tua all game. If this happens vs Hurts it will be a blowout.

From my perspective the offense does look better in general with Pickett and he has shown some promise, but obv 15 ppg is abysmal. I feel like we need to dial up some playcalling as the closer we get to the endzone the more we stall. I think I read we ran on 13 of the 20 1st down plays. We have become extremely predictable and they need to change it up.

Your defense of all things the Steelers do often comes off as foolish. It is possible to occupy the middle ground. The post you defended was out of line, but you defended the guy because he was thoughtlessly defending the team.

You're an a$$hole. That doesn't even make any sense. Not that I'm surprised.

The guy has played a handful of quarters in his pro football career. And you and SNOT are ready to lump him in with Mayfield? I don't know what the future holds for the kid. He could be a bust. He might end up in Canton, who the hell knows? But you sure in the hell don't give up on the guy after 3 1/2-4 games. WTF did you expect? Him to throw for 350 yards every game with 4 TD's, 2 rushing TD's and 129 PR? You people are goofy. This is not a playoff team, even if Roethlisberger had come back. Not enough talent. Yet you expect Pickett to come in and be the savior in his rookie year? Holy f$%k.

I never lumped him in with anyone (at least in my response) and I'm pretty realistic about my expectations for Pickett and this team on the contrary...which is not much. I simply stated a fact. He wont have 5 years of eligibility to figure out the game. I will preface my feelings concerning Pickett by saying this. I will have less patience for him then most on this board because I feel he was a first rd reach. The Steelers had no business drafting him in the first rd...they had much more pressing needs and Kenny's history and resume did not fit the bill of a QB in my opinion that was a no brainer 1st rd pick that you could disregard all your other needs. So for me personally, I'm gonna be a little bit less lenient, but at the same time I know how to be objective about the situation also.

I've said this b4 and I'm saying it again...
as a Steelers fan I'm rooting for Kenny out of default. I really am hoping the best for him and that I'm wrong about him. I just felt a much better QB class was coming in the upcoming draft and there was no need whatsoever to jump on the first train going out of town when you knew the team was going to be bad around him anyway. 1 mistake made 30+ years ago did not justify making a even bigger mistake now.

Yeah, and by SNOT's reasoning, they should already replace him. This was not going to be a great season. Anybody that thought he was going to come in here and solve all the offense's troubles are morons.

I'll not argue with you about taking him in the first round. I thought they should have taken a C/G or the big d-lineman (whose name escapes me) from Georgia if he fell to them, which he did not. But he's a Steeler and I support him. I also know he won't get five years to figure it out but when did that ever happen on any team? How many guys going back to the 1970's languished with the same team for years and stunk the joint out before they were replaced? It took Bradshaw about three years to start to put it together. The only way I attach the term mistake with the Pickett pick is that like you, there were much more pressing needs. They had Mitch and Mason. Rebuild the o-line and think QB in '23. I just have a real problem with a bunch of people busting the kid's balls because he's made a bunch of rookie mistakes. It doesn't really matter. This team isn't ready for prime time anyway and likely won't be for a couple of more seasons. And that's if they do nearly everything right. I feel everyone needs to take a breath and give the guy a chance.

The RB shelf life is 5 years. That's why you don't take a disposable position in round 1.

Really? How about if it's Derrick Henry? Zeke Elliott? A clone of LaDanian Tomlinson?

That's the thing. You aren't being objective. You are admitting that because you think the Steelers should have addressed other needs, you are judging him more harshly. That makes little sense and it clearly shows a lack of objectivity.

I can be objective about his performance from game to game is where it makes sense. I'm not saying bench the guy after 2 1/2 games. I want him to be out there. I'm simply saying as a fan who didnt want to see him drafted it's well within my right to not feel like the Steelers owe it to this guy to disregard future QBs with bigger upside if he doesnt pass the feel good test with them. I can look at what he's done up to this point and say he hasn't totally disappointed although I'm still not convinced he looks like a future franchise QB. I'm still rooting for him to do well because as a Steelers fan I'm hoping they may have lucked out and it's one less thing they have to worry about in next years draft.

Those no name DBs was getting away with a lot of holding on the Steelers WRs, but the refs throw a flag on Diontae for that weak OPI.

I don't know how He's not on the field for every play.
Good thing I'm not the Qb.....I'd throw 90 picks because I'd always be throwing at Pickens. LoL

I think you need to take the GDT with a grain of salt, emotions running high.

For the most part, the quality of play has been unacceptable, fans have a right to vent their frustrations.

The 1st 2 dropped interceptions led directly to 2 Miami FGs. Thats 6 points. The 3rd dropped interception was deep in Miami territory. Catch that one and the Steelers are already in FG range at the very least. Thats a minimum of a 9 point swing. Those 3 drops turned into catches, would have the Steelers with the lead and not needing to scramble in the last 3+ minutes for a TD. Those dropped interceptions changed the entire complexion of the game

You’re part of the problem whether you want to realize it or not. Writing has been on the wall for this type of season for years. Mindless drones supporting Tomlin and everything he does has got us into this mess.

I agree that the writing was on the wall and the fraud Tomlin is being exposed but come on. What Glemm and the fanboys say on this message board have nothing to do with him sticking around way too long. That falls directly on the shoulders of AR3.

No team owes any player anything. The Steelers have made that mistake many times over the years, including giving Roethlisberger one big-money contract extension too many. That wouldn't be the reason to stick with him past this season, to show some patience. Successful organizations have to have patience, not out of obligation to the player, but out of an understanding that constantly changing directions turns you into what the Browns have been since they got the expansion team. If the Steelers see one season and don't think he is their guy, then fine, draft one of the elite guys next year, but I just don't see that happening. I don't think one season is enough to make that decision.

Nobody should be convinced he is a franchise quarterback yet. He hasn't played well enough for that. I think anybody objectively looking at what he has done so far should realize he can be that, but he has a long way to go to prove it. Your entire take seems to be based on your preconceived notion from even before he was drafted. That's not objective.

If he pans out, it would be ridiculous to call it luck as you just did. They knew exactly what they were getting with Pickett. They knew the guy better than anybody.

16 points. If the offense can't score 17 points they should lose every game.

Before people turn their noses up at Mike Tomlin, why not go through the lists of head coaches who have been fired during his tenure. You can do a lot worse than Mike Tomlin. A lot worse. Is he blameless? Hell no! He let Bell and AB run roughshod in the locker room. He let Big Ben get away with all kinds of petty and passive aggressive comments. He's the one who hired and retained Canada.

He's also a head coach who has the respect of the locker room by and large. Whose teams have outperformed the league repeatedly. He's got two SB appearances, a win, and numerous deep playoff runs to his credit. He would be rehired as soon as he wanted. He *should* be on a bit of a hot seat. Agreed. But in a league where promising coaching prospects regularly flame out/a sea of retreads, it would be hard to find someone as good as Tomlin.
