Who do we take with the 4th pick?

Well Edmunds didn't play and the replacement was a FS (Norwood) and then another SS who got beat (Jackson). There are plenty of teams that roll 3 DB's and put each one in positions to succeed. That's exactly what they were trying to do with Kazee. Edmunds is far from the issue with the defense. We need a corner to pair with Sutton. He's a great #2/slot, but we don't have a #1. That would change our defense SIGNIFICANTLY.

Since they have a new GM, I hope they stop drafting receivers in the second round, it's time to focus on other positions. They need help at CB, ILB, OL, and SS.

 

Didn’t Mike go to college with his mom? In no way shape or form should they have drafted him in the 1st round. Then to make it worse they bring him back for a 5th year.

That'd be great and all but that doesn't address the problems at LT, NT, ILB, CB, or SS. Unless you're playing one of Anderson or Highsmith inside.

 

Anderson might just be too good to pass up. He might actually be able to slide inside. They could use him the way they once used Chad Brown. Levon Kirkland and Lawrence Timmons also made similar transitions.

If they kept a pick that high, I wouldn't have a problem with them taking Anderson, though I think the best course of action would be to trade it for multiple selections. With all the hype around the class of '23 quarterbacks, they should be able to get a massive haul in return.

Austin deserves to finish out the season. Maybe the defense can get healthy at some point. I'd like to see what he could do if he had everybody out there for a few weeks.

They won't be able to fill all of those holes in the draft anyway, I think they only have 5 picks in the 23 draft, and we probably won't get any comp picks. I expect them to be active in free agency, like they were this past offseason.

 

Yeah, I hope so. If they added something like a LT and CB in FA, I'd feel better about a Defensive BPA pick. Anderson would certainly be a great add. I can't be the only one who wants a massive, run stuffing DT, right? Maybe one is there around pick 36ish.
