Tomlin is holding team back. The new NFL demands a bright young offensive talent who can out-scheme people and fix offensive issues fast. Reid fixed KC horrible o line in a year. We are in year 4 of doing the same and suck terribly on o line. We know Tomlins strength is motivation while he blows at scheme. I remember that disaster AFC champ game where he was clowned by Belicheat. Hell even Bill is struggling now. The d motivator cheerleader type is out and young offensive mind is in. Cut bait after we go 3-14. Fire the dinosaur.

It wasn’t even Reid that fixed the line. That would be the gm. He even talks about how they got really lucky with those two draft picks. How you hope all of your draft picks pan out, but that’s rarely the case.

Reid is great but Mahomes can win with any line he hides any kind of problems KC may have

Bad QB play and bad QBs in general are a better indicator of bad teams.

    Rams are struggling now?
Shanahan and the 9’ers can’t buy a win without Jimmy G. But Kyle is an offensive genius?

    Cardinals don’t look great?

Pere carrol has won a few games with Geno freaking Smith?

Brocons with Wilson and Hackett forgot what the end zone looks like?

Just because Colin cowherd says something doesn’t make it true. He’s in the click bait/hot take business.

That's not completely true. Yes Mahomes is a great QB but they lost the SB to TB because the OL sucked. They went out and spent money in FA to bring in a stud LT. Drafted a great C in 2nd round and got the steal of the draft in Trey Smith in round 6. They went from one of the worst OLs to one of the best in 1 offseason because the invested in it.

I don't buy the argument about Defensive Head coaches, because they can always bring in an OC to completely takeover and run the offense.

Remember Tomlin's early years? We had proven OCs that were well established NFL Coaches that Tomlin completely turned the offensive side of the ball over to.
    Bruce Arians 2007-2011
    Todd Haley 2012 -2017

Then Ben took over and we hired Randy who was Ben's Buddy and QB coach. And, this is where the decline began.

Tomlin needs to go back to his past and bring in a strong OC that has years of NFL experience that he can once again completely turn the offensive side of the ball over to. All these inhouse promotions are what is currently hurting Tomlin's coaching staff.

Edit: I will throw a little mud on Tomlin. I am assuming as Tomlin's Salary has increased over the years the percentage of what is given to the OC and DC have decreased.

As is always the case with you close yet no cigar. They spent 80 million on a free agent guard, traded away draft picks for a left tackle, and then drafted two players.

For the next 15 years I am going to be pissed about Creed Humphrey's. I know we would not have been able to draft Muth if we took Creed, but we would have not used our 3rd round pick on Green either. What an amazing 1-2 punch Najee and Creed would have been to the team last year.

Because our only problem on the offensive line was at center. 15 different combinations due to injury didn’t play any role at all.

Then we need a new GM who actually cares about o line to go with new offensive coach. Spending all our salary cap on d is stupid and not even good at defense right now.
We spend the lowest amount on offense and it shows. We have been a dumpster fire ever since Bens injury and no one ( even the biggest MT fan cannot disagree with it.) League elite have great offenses and our has been horrible for years now. When we score 20 it a miracle. I dont see MT changing it.

You want to hear one even more mind boggling! We could've got Tyler Biadasz in the 4th round in 2020. I was screaming it all off-season. He's now the Cowboys starting center. Who did we take instead? McFarland Jr... From?... MARYLAND

Yinz wonder why I want Tomlin so far away from this organization. That right there embodies exactly why this team is in the current state it's in.

We could've stole a starting center in the 4th from Wisconsin. All they do is produce linemen. He could've got 1 year of prep behind Pouncey then started. Instead we take a scat back Tomlin fell in love with watching his son play at Maryland. And thought I can turn him into something LOL Then the next year we take a guard with 2 games at center and throw him to the fire and try to teach/start him at center his rookie year.

    DISASTER

Well we aren't going to go 3-14. I doubt we win more than 7 games, but we are 100% going to win more than 3. I agree to an extent with your premise. Its an offensive league and the offensive minds have an inherit advantage. However, Sean McDermott is a defensive coach and I think he coaches the best team (and one of the best offenses in the league). Ken Dorsey was obviously a really good QB in college.

How exactly are you grading/comparing a guy on the bench vs a starter?

I am sorry, but did you actually watch how bad Green played last year? The O-Line would have looked completely different with a rock like Creed in at Center. Instead every time Ben dropped back to pass there was Green getting pushed back into his face.

NFL's top 100 players. #59 Creed Humphrey. So, I will be kicking the Steelers a long time for not taking Creed, who the mock drafts had the Steelers taking to replace Pouncey; What an Easy transition that would have been.

I don't recall Creed being projected as a first round pick, I think the Chiefs passed on him the first time in the second round.
