The best player that will be in the 2023 draft is Alabama edge rusher Will Anderson.

I'm not sure we know who will be the best player in the 2023 draft, but based on what we know now, Anderson is a damn good bet.

He might be the best player in the draft next year but he won't be the first player taken.

Unless something catastrophic happens, Young or Stroud will be the first pick. Probably first and second. There is a chance one of those guys fall apart but it's highly unlikely that both will.

If they had come out this year, we still would've got Pickett because they would've been long gone.

    Hell...

    Will Anderson Jr was already my number one overall rated player heading into 2022 for the upcoming 2023 Draft anyhow; long before the 2023 mocks began anyway.. For that matter and, for the second consecutive year, I have no QBs within the Top Five for I believe there are five players far superior at their positions than the likes of CJ and Bryce. They are as follows;

1.) Will Anderson Jr.: EDGE from Alabama

2.) Jalen Carter: Defensive Lineman from Georgia

3.) Jaxon Smith Njigba: Wide Receiver from Ohio State

4.) Noah Sewell: Linebacker from Oregon

5.) Michael Mayer: Tight End from Notre Dame

Trying to figure out the top draftees for 2023 before the 2022 season has even started is a bigger waste of time than looking for voter fraud. Anyone remember Spencer Rattler? The hands down #1 QB of 2022? Anyone? Bueler?

Here's ESPN's top 100 from August of 2021. Now go compare it to the draft, and look at the top 100 players who were taken. And even better, look at the QBs on the list.

Since I brought it up, and numerous people before the draft wanted us to not take a qb, since "next year" there's a better crop: (overall ranking in ESPN top 100 going into 2021 season)
    1- Spencer Rattler, Oklahoma
    5- Sam Howell, NC
    12- Kedon Slovis, USC
    16- Malik Willis, Liberty
    18- Matt Corral, Old Miss
    20- Desmond Ridder, Cinci
    21- Bryce Young, Bama
    28- DJ Uiagalelei, Clemson
    29- Brock Purdy, Iowa State
    31- Grayson McCall, Coastal Carolina
    33- Dillon Gabriel, UCF
    36- D'Eriq King, Miami
    45- Michael Pennix, Jr, Indiana
    65- Malik Cunningham, Louisville
    86- Jayden Daniels, Arizona State

15 qb's in the top 100, and do you notice a name missing? Some qb from Pittsburgh, I think.
We did get two out of the top 100, however. George Pickens was #74 and DeMarvin Leal was #15.

Nobody was looking at Pickett as a first-round pick before the 2021 season. Then again, the same was true of Joe Burrow before his final season at LSU.

Anderson and Jalen Carter will be monsters.....
All I know is that I don't want us to be in a position to draft them without a trade

If Anderson is drafted to play ILB I would be ecstatic plus he can be used pass rush specialist.

Why ILB? I haven’t watched Alabama yet this season, but last year I remember him impacting exclusively off the edge.

Will Anderson can play any of those positions at a high level... Some people believe that will be his best spot in the NFL with situational rushing from the edge.

Is ILB a natural position for Anderson? What do you think about Henry T? He may not be the strongest or fastest LB out there but he seems very smart and always in the right place at the right time. It was a big win for the hometown Vols when he came to TN and it sucked when he jumped ship after the Jeremy Pruitt dumpster fire but I can't blame him. Would love to see Henry T in the black and gold. 2nd rounder?

I was cold on To'oto'o just seemed like a Bush clone but IMO he really improved his game and how he attacks the run game. Anderson has lined up all along the defensive front and has excelled... He is a defender that does not need to leave the field. I would not be disappointed with To'oto'o if his name is called also he seems more like a Tomlin player if you will.

He is a 3 down ILB gets good depth in zone drops against the pass and has gotten much better and agressive going downhill against the run...Crazy thing grew up a diehard PSU fan and a BAMA fan.... I said who is this team from the south with plain uniforms.

Yeah, I can see where the Razorbacks might get a bit of a complex over having their lunch money stolen by Bama every year.

It sucks playing in the SEC....unless You are Florida, Georgia, Alabama, and LSU. Seems no matter how good You get ....one , or more of them always gets better. LoL

Henry T seems like someone I've been mocking in the 2nd all along after Paris Johnson/Jalen Carter in the 1st. Not to say ILB isn't valuable, I just value trenches more. I'd actually throw bricks at my TV if we went Lb in the 1st.

he’s got all the measurables, but he’s a bit stiff in the hips.
