He has been one of the few bright spots on defense and living up to that big contract extension he signed a few years ago. With Polamalu hurt all the time Timmons is the one player on defense who can make splash plays like the pick 6 against the Browns.

I've been a critic of LT on this board, but I am encouraged to see him living up to some of his potential. He can be a dynamic player and I hope he continues to perform.

:this!: Best LB this year, if he could only cut down on some of his bad angles in run pursuit which he does occasionally. Other than that he is playing much better than last year.

Yes Timmons is playing at a Pro Bowl Level this year, other than week one when he couldn't chase down Manning. The guy has just been awesome!

Timmons has been dynamic this year. Goes without saying he's been the best LB out there this year.

Remember after last season how many people wanted him gone and said he was garbage without taking into account that he played olb a lot last year and had to sit in coverage because farrior couldn't. I think some were still saying it at the beginning of this season. Lmao what a joke now that he play and roam and seek and destroy again look what happened.

ive always compared him to Troy. Troy is at his best when he can roam around and make plays. thats exactly what Timmons is doing now and we are reaping the rewards.

Timmons is always around the ball. he was not very good as an OLB. he doesnt have the body type for it. just like Troy is not like Clark. Clark is built to destroy people. like Harrison and Woodley are. Timmons like Troy are pure athletic freaks. let them roam around and find the ball and good things will happen.

We wouldn't be able to field a team if we listened to some of the people around here.

I know. It's hilarious. Anybody who has a bad game is fodder. I recall people tossing out the idea of getting rid of the The Beard. Yeesh!

Yeah... Go back and check threads from the beginning of the season. Admittedly (even by himself), The Beard wasn't producing as he'd liked to. However, some on this board were saying his time was done. All I could do was

The only non bright spot I have seen on this defense lately is wood and troy being hurt. Yeah troy is hurt but come on people stop with the get rid ofbtroy or he should retire stuff. He didn't miss a game last year and has admitted his off season work outs aren't working so he is going with Taylor to tom Shaw to train. Watch next year will be trots best year in a long time maybe ever if he sticks to his word and goes with ike.

I seem to remember on the old board someone making the claim that "Kiesel isn't that good. The only reason people like him is because his name rhymes with diesel."

Agree. I'm loving the D, right now. And props to the much-improved secondary! More turnovers would be nice, but they are really delivering with 3-and-outs, and stalling out the opposing offense before they can get into scoring range. Also, they aren't giving up many TDs. I give them a pass on Sunday. They were put in HORRIBLE field position, all day!

While I think TImmons is playing great, Clark is by far my Defensive MVP this year and biggest surprise. Dude is an animal and literally has no fear.

Come on now, guys, let's be fair. Timmons HAD NOT lived up to the potential and the hype and I think if you evaluate his performance over his first few seasons, not one game, you could reasonably come to that conclusion. I know there are a few knee-jerk reaction people out there and are ready to cut anybody, up to and including Ben, if he has a bad game, but you can't tell me that Timmons was not underperforming before this season. I have been critical of Timmons' performance and, IMHO, justifiably so. BUT, it is very nice to see him performing at the level he's been performing at over the course of this season and I am very hopeful that he continues to live up to his potential and even get better with time. For some guys it seems to take a while before the switch is flipped, but it appears that's the case now with Timmons and we're all very happy about it.
