Thoughts? I think that Dwyer matches up the best against the Ravens D. But, whoever has that rock needs to hang on to it. I can't remember a season with more fumbles between the WR's and RB's both.

I would say definitely Redman/Dwyer. Rainey only if they use him in the right type of plays - none of this up-the-gut stuff, he just doesn't have the right size to do that.

    Dwyer. More forward, less sideways.

I'll go Dwyer with the start, Mendy off the bench.

Dwyer his fumble was excusable. The defender put a hard shot on him with his helmet hitting the football. Also I think Dwyer is our best back.

Jonathan Dwyer needs to be the starter, period. The way Tomlin has handled the RB situation this year has been a TRAVESTY! This RB by committee approach does not work. Taking ALL of your best RBs out of a game and leaving an undersized rookie to carry the load is an act simply designed to show who the boss is, not to win the game. Benching arguably your best RB for TWO GAMES over one fumble is pure stupidity, especially when you don't hold a certain diva WR to the same standard! I agree that whoever the RB is has to hang on to the football, but Tomlin does not allow any of the RBs to get into the flow of a game. Poor coaching IMHO.

Well said, I think they need to choose somebody and ride him out as well. Unless that he isn't have much sucess or in hurt, then you make the change.

Mendenhall. Give him 25 carries and he'll prove why he's far superior to Redman and Dwyer. Dwyer and Redman are plodders. If Mendy gets 25 carries and doesn't look good or fumbles, then fine, sit him the rest of the season and let him walk, but at least give the most skilled guy on the team a chance to prove himself. Dwyer and Redman are not the future of this team. They are not skilled enough. If Mendy leaves at the end of the year, we will bring in someone else, either through the draft or free agency, because Dwyer and Redman are nothing more than plodders.

does it matter until the line blocks? all 4 of our rb's are talents. no holes, no yards, more collisions, more fumbles,no scoring,3rd and longs.

I think that's a mistake, but so be it, as long as Dwyer gets 20+ carries. I don't care if he fumbles on his 1st carry, leave him in there and let him get his mind in the game. Re-evaluate after the game, not after each play. We can't keep carrying on with musical RB's, we need to pick someone and give him an opportunity to produce. I still firmly believe Mendy is our most talented RB by far, but I just want a running game one way or another

All I hear around here is how soft Tomlin is, too much a players coach, blah blah blah and then when he does something tough you guys still slam him. *smh*

What he did was not tough, it was shortsighted. I think Shaner said it well above, evaluate the RB after the game not after each play. Name a starter and, barring injury, stick with the guy the entire game and allow him to get into the flow of the game. If he underperforms, then bench his butt the next week, not the next series. For some RBs, they really don't start getting into the flow until carry 12-15. You can't change RBs every possession and multiple times a possession. Tomlin has mishandled the RB situation this year, TE. Do you disagree with that?

With him being a free agent after this season, I wouldn't be surprised to see the Steelers just letting him walk.
