Field conditions

How for the first game hash mark most of the grass are gone. I know college,high school
play there also.Are they using the right grass that can hold up?

 

I have an idea it will be resodded after Pitt Game Saturday if not before?

 

The usually do it once a year after the high school playoff games after thanksgiving

 

That field is fine. They have come along way from 13-15 years ago taking care of it.

They won't re-sod it until maybe November after Pitt is done

 

I hope the HS's and Pitt are getting more out of it than we are.

Steelers work with NFL scheduling so we never have a home game that weekend. It gives them time to do the field.

 

It does seem You are correct....now that I think about it. Didn't one Year they have to emergency re-sod it after a Pitt game because of the weather that night....,and then the next game ....clumps of field was coming up everywhere ????...., or did I dream this. LoL

There was the Miami game where they laid it over the base and tried to sew it in then got hit with a monsoon. I know you're not talking about that one though because that was the one with the punt sticking in the ground.

There was one where they replaced the center and clumps were coming up though. They had some problems with it early on based on what turf they tried to use and the frequency of play vs. replacement and time between.

They tried that hybrid grass/field turf crap too.

 

I was at that Miami game... oof... what a night... The most entertaining thing was watching the field crew attempt to paint the lines and cheering/booing as the machine broke down/started back up.

 

The one where they replaced the center part maybe what I'm remembering.

 

After Pitt is gone they then paint the end ones and Steelers logo in the center
