TOMLIN

I freely admit when I am wrong about a situation. This video shows me that my opinion was off.

He does talk to the guys throughout the game and tries to help coach them up. However I stand by my statement that he is more of the lean on me guy I will help you get there guy than what we see from Ward or Farrior in years past. Different types of leadership but yet Ben shows that he can do both. Again it is my interpretation and I'm offering it up for discussion not trying to pass it off as fact and the end all and be all.

The reason I am bring it up has nothing to do with the loss but when a discussion of Tomlin is being had. I have made the same point numerous times before. Tomlin likes for a leader to step forward rather than picking someone and saying you are a team leader go do this. You are assuming that because I entered the discussion after a loss and said hey this is a main problem that I am saying they lost because of it. No that isn't the case, I am stating that there was a void left when they cut Farrior, Ward and Smith that hasn't been filled and you can see break down in areas where those three would help coach guys up. Obviously Ben wants to be one of those guys but when you are sidelined with an injury you can't do that much. In my opinion that is a missing element and an important one. You disagree that is fine. You wanna talk about why they lost I would say and ineffectual run game, last minute injuries on the offensive line, turnovers were huge but not insurmountable and undisciplined and sloppy play.

 

Yea i have been watching the Steelers since 78, if thats any of your damn buissness, and i said Cowher already cashed out when they went 8-8, but Cowher also done more with less players then tomlin also. If i remember correct Cowher took two diff teams to the sb. What the hell has your boy Tomlin ever done besides win with somone's elses team ??

 

I need to use this phrase more in everyday life.

 

It baffles me why you continuously defend Tomlin...maybe your related to him or something. You defend him at all times. Can you take your Tomlin goggles off for a quick second and honestly tell me you see no faults in him?

Yes...it does. My apologies (and to you as well Tomlin Era)...I normally don't like to get caught up in disagreements on a message board because everyone has and is entitled to their opinion. Its been a rough two weeks. Whatever you or anybody says is not going to change my opinion that Tomlin is a good coach and whatever I say is not going to change Tomlin Era's opinion...so we will just have to agree to disagree. Go Steelers!

I realized I hit a nerve with my quote, but everyone needs to look at the Report Card in today's Post Gazette, before tarring and feathering me! I'm not the only one that thinks the coaching is suspect!

 

I don't know... the product on the field in the games that should have been gimmies concern me a whole lot more than getting our butts handed to us by a competent team. To me, it's not really competing if you're barely hanging in with a team with one or two wins.

 

There are no gimmies in the NFL. Mistakes, injuries, and turnovers can level the playing field between teams.

This team competed and had the opportunity to win every game this season regardless of the adversity they faced.

 

I agree I'm not advocating firing Tomlim either (Worked really well for the chargers when they fired a sucessful coach). I am however advocating lighting a fire under (U get the point). We are not playing Steeler Football we are plain lazy when we get a lead. We are undisciplined and our players give up to easily.

Like I posted earlier I think Tomlin and the entire team needs to be reminded on who we are and what they represent (6 Lombardies all earned). We need a leader to step up and call out guys when they don't fight for the ball or turn it over. That doesn't mean they have to yell and scream but they have to lead. Ben is a leader of sorts. He can make plays and motivate his guys in the huddle but we need an overall leader like Joey Porter, Hines or Jerome.

 

Chill Guys. Yeah me the guy who was banned for life on the "Official Message Board" said chill. Every once in a while all teams S**t the bed. The clown fans knew it was coming too. Anyone else see the yellow sign with black letters "BED WETTERS"?
We also miss the playoffs every once in a while. We as fans need to stay the course and hope for the best. Go Steelers!

I'm sorry. I was typing my post while you were typing yours. I honestly thought the reason the Steelers shut that site down was because of all the BA bashing. I never got to post there. I could only read what other people would say. That was really annoying too btw.

 

I used some really colorful language to call Cowher names. I used to really hate it when he said "save for one or two plays we're right where we want to be" I called him everything but a coach. I had been banned for weeks at a time three times before that for calling him names too.

 

same here. I did get back on with this ID but either they figured out it was me or they were so screwed up and like many others, I couldn't post. But Pittsburgh Slim and rick723 were banned for life over there. Once TT opened this one I just stayed here.

 

That board was heavily anti BA too though wasn't it? I was actually a member of a board called "firebrucearians.com" at one point but noone ever put anything on there. I just found it surfing the web once to find out if people were as mad at him as me and I registered there. I think it was just like a token of someone's disdain and he put it there as an outlet for others that felt the same way he did. There were quite a few members though. LOL.

 

I got banned for life for defending another poster in spanish and wrote something that's not necessarily a curse word. Touchy, touchy people at that other site.

 

Man that gray area will get you every time. LOL.
