Do you think the clowns will let him come to us though? He might step in in Weeden's absence and do good and we might be saying let's get Weeden ya know. LOL.

It is now very apparent...Wallace is dropping every pass...he is allowing interceptions without trying to defend...he needs a little bench time to think things over. He's pissed...I'm pissed.

Its irrelevant at this point as the trade deadline has passed.
We have to play the hand dealt to us for the remainder of season and see who is avaliable in FA and draft.

Oh yeah I was talking about in the offseason will we make a play for him. I just have a feeling that they are not gonna use Hoyer for any long period of time. I think they are gonna look for a guy that can be here for a while that is somewhat proven to be effective elsewhere.

I wouldnt set my sights on any FAs right now. Anything could happen between now and than. Just have to play it out till than. And no I dont think Hoyer is the answer. How many players the Pats ever let go that were worth anything?

For what it is worth, The locals here in Western Pa,
have had just about enough of #17. I have one question,
when we were all young players weren't we taught from the get go if
you cannot catch pass atleast don't let the defensive player catch it either?
I see alot of this in Mike Wallace, its a shame, all these poor traits that he
    has are correctable.

Dude I was thinking the same thing during that int yesterday. I know that it was underthrown and there was no way Wallace could have caught it in his position. But that would have been the PERFECT oppourtunity for OFFENSIVE PI! And I started thinking that I can't remember if Wallace has EVER had an offensive PI. Now some could say it's because he's a disciplined player and all that but it could also be that he never fights for the ball and it's either totally feast or totally famine with him. I'm glad you posted that though because I've been wondering what the people outside of our little bubble on here have been thinking about him. So you would say the consensus among our nation is that he should go?

Just to throw my two cents in on Wallace...simply put "Total lack of effort". If it's not thrown perfectly he does not catch it. He does not fight for the ball, and what drives me crazy is that after he is touched by the DB, he gives up trying to catch the ball and starts looking for a flag.
I started watching the game late in the second quarter and honestly wondered if he was playing, because he was never thrown to and never mentioned.

There is NOTHING he has done or accomplished this year(so far) that deserves big money.

No idea if you watched the NO vs SF game yesterday, but if so Randy Moss grabbed a defender and threw him to the ground because he was going to pick off a badly thrown ball. It was clear offensive PI and was called, but it saved a turnover. That's what Wallace needs to do, but he won't, he's far too soft.

Well said, I really get frustrated when I think that I will have a nice relaxing Sunday watching the Steelers beat the pants off of one of those sub-par teams. That rarely happens, I know about any given Sunday mantra, but it seems like we have to struggle to win or flat out loose most of these games.
As for mike Wallace yeah he fast but so is 88 and his contract is up.If 17 wants too much money sign 88 and jJerico C, we will ne fine with those 2 and AB!!

Maybe you should also show how many times targeted. Then we can have more context for these numbers.

Well at least now we have SOME context. I don't think I've seen numbers discussed in this thread. :lolol:

if AB was not hurt he would be leading the team in receptions and yards and Wallace would be 3rd. thats for a guy that wants to be paid like a #1 and hes the 3rd best reciever, oops, i mean the 4th best reciever behind AB, Miller and Sanders on the team. Sanders would probably catch him in a cuple more games if AB doesnt get back.

i think Wallace has a ton of talent, but he has not made a caase for himself to get paid more than AB. he should of taken the 50 million when he had the chance because i dont see any way that the FO would offer that to him now.

Funny, I thought the use of "if" was to discuss options that either have not, or will not, materialize.

Probably. Kevin Colbert keeps saying they want Wallace. I think it's likely they will pay a little more than they want and Wallace will accept a little less than he wants. It's a business negotiation. But numbers don't lie: While I don't think Wallace has the hands of AB, Sanders and Miller, it appears none of them puts up points like Wallace.

I will be pissed if they re-sign Wallace. If that happens, our offence will continue to be stagnant. We do not have a possession receiver of any kind. Brown, Sanders and Wallace are all the same type of receiver. We desperately need a big, possession receiver who can catch a ball for the first down despite being smothered by DB's. We also need a guy that can go up and get the ball at its highest point. Our offence will never improve as long as Wallace is the #1 on this team

i agree , with brown locked down and sanders high tendered, we need another kind of wr (a boldin type), invest 10 milion a year for wallace would be insane i wouldn't mind considering a hibrid te wr like dustin keller
