That would have been interesting. Had a good roster, 2001 was the year they went 13-3 with Stewart.

He wasnt the QB he used to be at that point obviously but maybe he would have had enough in the tank to take them all the way that year.

For those who are reading or internet lookup impaired. In 1999, Dan Marino started the first 5 games, he was injured and missed the next 5. When he returned the Dolphins were 8-2. Danny started the next 6, they finished 9-7, backed into the playoffs and lost a close playoff game to the Jags 62-7. With two picks and 3 fumbles lost in the 1st half. D-O-N-E.

His last full season in 98 he had 24 TD’s and 16 Int for 3500 yards. That doesn’t scream done but maybe your definition of done is different than mine.

He was certainly a very diminished Marino by that point but Peyton was way worse than Marino and he won a championship with a good team around him. The 2001 Steelers were very good, who knows what would have happened but I’d have taken Marino over Kordell and I am a Kordell fan.

Marinos numbers aren’t even as good as the players today. Like Ben had a better td int ratio and rating.., I always thought Dan was way better.

It was a complete different era too.In 1998,the last full season of Marino,he was 7th in yards and TD pass with 3497 yards and 23 TD.Only 2 QBs had over 4000 yards in 1998(Steve Young and Brett Favre). Also only Marino(1984 and 1986) and Kurt Warner(1999) had a season of over 40 TD pass before the 2004 season. Now we have a 5000 yards passer and a QB with at least 40 TD pass every year since 2011,since the safety rules of the NFL where you can't hit a WR in the middle of the field like before

Lol. For those who subscribe to the theory that internet insults/smack = intelligence + large genitalia, I believe studies have actually shown the reverse.

The comment was "there were no numbers after his 99 season." It was simple misunderstanding of your preceding, "look at his numbers after he can back from injury in ‘99," which was a rather vague statement. So misinterpretation there does not equal "reading or internet [there really should be dash here, especially if one is calling out others' deficiencies] lookup impaired."

But hey, who am I to say.

Sure ‘98 was great , but let’s ignore ‘99. You Wanted to move on from Ben after 2020, Ben In 2021 was Marino in ‘99

You want to use stats from an injured shortened season? That makes sense.

No, Marino wasnt Ben level bad but tell yourself what you need to.

Ben had better stats in 2021 than Marino did in 97-98 better cmp %, td int ratio, rating but less Y/A

I'll say this for Danny boy, with that release he had any offensive line would do.

Damn guy broke all my passing record at Central Catholic HS or at least that's the lie I use to tell.

When you look at the last 2 years that Ben played the Steelers record was 21-10. The 2 games that he missed the Steelers record was 0-1-1. Sure his skills had diminished but he still had the ability to pull out victories late in the game.

    Dash, not hyphen.

(Unless you’re talking typesetting lingo and meant n-dash…but that still leaves ambiguity with most readers.)

It was more n-dash; but you're right, it mucked up clarity.

That said... I'm thinking you meant "hyphen, not dash."
