What’s your sense on this? I honestly believe Kenny Pickett will debut as the Steelers starting quarterback at some point the first half of the season and if Mitch and the offense continue to underperform the way they did in the Bengals game it may be as soon as game 4. We all know it’s inevitable, but at what point will it occur?

If Mitch is not better,it will be after the bye.It could be week 4 if the steelers lose the next 2 games and the offense is poor

    I voted game 9-12

And now Mr. Trubisky (Mitch’s dad) has chimed in. ;)

And for crying out loud people, provide some context to your votes. Especially those who think Mitch will QB all season. Is that wishful thinking or do you think Mitch can rise above the mediocrity that’s plagued him his entire career? I’m interested to hear your perspective.

I don't think winning has anything to do with it. It's of the offense line won't get Kenny killed. And if mitch isn't moving the offense.

So if they repeat two more times like last week. They'll be looking at Kenny.

Who knows when and if it will happen. Depends on Mitch’s play and possible injury.
    Enjoy the games.

If Mitch is playing poor due to the OL, why would you pull him? No run game no pass protection, let's blame the QB. Sounds familiar.

Can I get an earlier option? Count me in as someone who is saying Kenny plays before week 4.

As long as Mitch stays healthy and they’re in division contention, Pickett rides the pine.

Because Kenny has a quick release that Mitch doesn't. They handle bad pass protection differently: Mitch runs out of the pocket as soon as he can, and Kenny doesn't read the entire field and throws the ball in under 2 seconds.

I think a lot of the time Kenny has made up his mind where he is going to throw the ball before the ball is snapped. This results in a lot of quick throws that the defense can't bring pressure on. He needs to develop a better poker face and make DBs guess wrong where he is throwing too. Ben had that pump fake that would totally cause DBs to stop in their shoes, thinking he was throwing the ball somewhere else. When throwing left, just look to the right to be looking to the right, you don't even need to be reading the right side of the field.

Not gonna cast a vote, but I have a gut feeling we will see him for a series or two this weekend, the reason being, I think Mitch is gonna get shaken up by either a hit or him running for a first down.

Kenny will come in for a series or two and then Mitch will come back in no matter how well Kenny does.

Do you think all QB’s are created equal? Ben played with plenty of bad lines and didn’t stop him from being a HOF player. The line play had little to do with Bens performance the past two seasons and more to do with the drop in his own ability to play the position. Unless your name is Brady, your play will continue to deteriorate when you are on the wrong side of 30.

If Pickett is better than Trubisky, you play him regardless of how the oline is playing.

You won't see Kenny this as long as there still in playoff race...when eliminated you prob will see him..Mitch isn't gonna be throwing picks n losing games ...I thought he played average for not playing in 2 years behind that line...no turnovers...big plays when needed...got the win...and it would be kinda ridiculous to not assume it can only get better n better as they all get in sync..go watch Mitches playoff years with Bears...He is not a garbage QB..And he is here so they do not have to throw Kenny in now..because even though there is that 2 percent fan base that just doesn't understand how preseason football is no indicator of how good or not good a rookie QB is...there's so much more to real games then just throwing easy passes against backups that aren't scheming you or blitzing...it's silly to put him in without knowing entire playbook ..2 min off...audibles..blocking calls 100 percent..because you have time ..there not a playoff team this year...be real fans..stop being upper level guys booing your starter alwayes calling for the other guy...learn the game

I think Pickett starts game #4 against the Jets. It will be a Thursday night game so he will have 10 days to work with the first team offense.

I guessed 5-8 figuring if Mitch is below expectations just enough to get sat down, management will let him start at least 4 games before making that move. If Mitch is playing good enough not to get sat down after 8 games, he is probably starter for the season.

Won't see Pickett this year unless Trubisky gets injured.

Ben Roethlisberger was pretty much an afterthought in 2004 until Maddox was injured vs Ravens.
