It was the shortest presser in recent memory, not full of the cliches today. He struck me as pretty pissed- "That was an ugly performance. I'm surprised it was that close."

I don't know what people want him to say after his 4 running backs cough up the ball and his 3rd string old quarterback doesn't have the arm strength to be in the league anymore. I'm not upset with Tomlin, more with the front office not getting him the backup personnel he needs to be successful.

What do you want him to say? We suck, we'll never win another game.

I'm so pissed with this team. We have no leadership from our coach or veterns. The hole left when Hines retired has not been filled. We don't deserve the playoffs and something needs to change. I'm not a sky is falling guy and i'm not a bandwagon fan I am a Steeler fan and this isnt Steeler football. We have lost four games that we should have and would have won in the past.

I'm not sure if it's Tomlin's fault or just the players but they are not prepared they don't play with emotion. They relax when playing less talented teams. I would be willing to throw the season and bench alot of starters to see who steps up (If anyone). Sloppy sloppy football if I were the players and coaches I would be embarassed to show my face in the Burgh. I am however done with Batch and Lefty. I would cut them now and try someone else. I know a backup isnt supossed to be starter quality but Batch has finally reached his limit and needs to go. Lefty; well I never wanted him here anyways. His windup is laughable.

Time for the Rooney's to call a meeting and tell Tomlin what Steeler football is all about.

The front office decides who makes the team at the end of the preseason? I thought that was Tomlin's job to decide who makes the team.

Leadership, that's what holds on to the ball. That's what keeps players from getting hurt. That's it, you nailed it.

This getting on TOmlin for what he says is stupid, wtf do you want him to say? If you want to criticize his coaching then fine, but acting like what he says in his presser is so ****ing important is idiotic.

Ok I will bite on your post and the questioning of Tomlins comments on leading our Steelers.

    Tomlins post game comments

"That was an ugly performance. That is ours. We own it. When you turn the ball over the way we did today you are not going to beat anybody. That is just the reality of the National Football League. I am surprised it was that close given the turnover situation. We are not looking for comfort. We understand that we are not going to have much support after a performance like that. We probably deserve that. We have to go back to work and get back to playing fundamental football. We were highly penalized; we turned the ball over. When you do those things you are going to lose. I don’t care who’s playing quarterback"

Thanks for stating the obvious in your comments above. How about Kudo's to the defense to keep the game close with all the miscues. You are not going to have any support after a game like that as it may have been one of the worst Steeler football games ever and yes you deserve it, state it as a reality. I am concerned you are speaking to get back to work and playing fudemental football in week 11, this should have been worked out in training camp or the first few weeks of the season and concerns me as a fan you are going back to this in week 11. We have been highly penalized all season and it needs to stop, this points to you as the head coach and trianing camp.

Were you just trying to find a running back that can hold the ball?

    Absolutely.

Maybe you should have mentioned we were to predictable in our run game and the Cleveland defense was able to stop us at the line of scrimage allowing multiple players to attempt a stip of the ball from our backs. Kudos to their defense and the game plan to stop our offense. Also on a couple of plays they put good hits on the runner to cause a fumble. The bigger question to answer is why are we fumbling this much late in the year.

Were the problems uncharacteristic or more symptomatic of something else?
It really doesn’t matter. The reality of it is we didn’t do a good job of securing the football today. We didn’t do a good job of converting third downs. It was ugly

Yes it does matter, you avoided the question and shows little on how you can lead this team in this area going forward. The penalties are an area that show lack of discipline from the top down. Your conversion on third down statement is again obvious and is on you to improve upon working with Haley.

As the head coach of the Steelers us fans expect a little more from Tomlin in his pressers to ensure he understands how to right the ship after losses such as today. Something he doesn't provide and has us questioning his ability to improve the team moving forward. We are not talking about one loss to a subpar team in his tenure as head coach as this year there have been many and a few in past years. As fans we purchase tickets, NFL merchandise, Sunday Ticket, supporting the organization and in turn have an expecation from our head coach.

OK I am done, guess I just took this loss a little hard.

I don't like the fact that he talks in platitudes but that's the least of our problems. The one thing he said in this presser though is when they asked him if the problems were symptomatic and he said "it really doesn't matter." That was a direct question but he didn't really answer it. Bill Belichik says this though and I believe it. "When you win say little. When you lose say less." I mean I'm furious with the direction this season has taken but at least Tomlin isn't coming out talking about how we're gonna "unleash" and all that. The D has played good. Not all year but lately. Now here is the question. Is the defensive play a result of Lebeau's coaching or Tomlin's? If it's Tomlin then I think we need to cut him some slack.

Thanks for the reply and the intersting question you bring up on the D playing so well that last two games. If it is Tomlin I hope he works with Haley next :) :)

I guess it is a good thing I am not the head coach of the Steelers as I am sure I would say to much either way from the Belichik way.

The front office does decides who comes in. The quarterbacks in camp during preseason was Johnson, Leftwich and Batch. Who would you pick to be your backups? Looks like you don't have a choice.

My favorite thing he said was something like "we were looking for a RB that would hold onto the football....but when they all drop it"

    LOL

I love Tomlins PC...I thought todays was great...we stunk...should have been worse....straight forward and to the point....no way to shine that turd.

And I'm amazed how concerned people are about tomlins post game presser. As someone else said, his presser is the least of our concerns.

Completely undiciplined team. Too many mistakes that are elementary. No fire. Just a total lack of effort on most everybody's part. Penalties and 8 Turnovers. THAT IS A PROBLEM!

I've never been so upset over a lack of effort.

Tomlin is a huge part of this teams garbage.
