Okay, okay, call this clickbait if you’d like. I know some of you were coming here to blast me for foolishly claiming that Pickett is already better than the second greatest quarterback in Steelers history. That would be grounds for a lifetime banishment from this board and an indefinite suspension of my Steelers fan card. But I will say this, Picket does seem to be better than Ben at hitting his receivers in stride and giving them opportunities to gain maximum YAC. Ben would often be just a hair late or throw the ball slightly behind the receiver causing them to have to slow down or make a contested catch when it could have been a much bigger outcome had he hit them in stride at full speed. Pickett seems to have a knack for doing that. Of course I realize that doing it in college and in the pre-season doesn’t mean squat until you do it consistently against the big boys on Sunday, but I like what I’ve seen so far.

While I disagree with almost everything you wrote. I just want to clarify

Bradshaw's 4 rings makes him better than all Ben's passing yards, 500 yard games and most wins in team history 14 straight wins as a rookie and 2-1 in Super Bowls

But Pickett's 3 preseason TDs also make him better than Ben?

I don't want to turn this in to Terry vs Ben round 2, BUT.......

Ben had the career longevity and piled up stats in a league that was much more conducive to passing than when Bradshaw played. I loved Ben's career, but Bradshaw was a much better all-around big game QB.

1..... big ben was the greatest for us.
2.... #1 isn't open for debate unless you are going to claim what the team effort did for obtaining rings

Also like pickett but I'm not seeing he does everything on the level of ben and his receivers better in stride.... in fact I see a totally different style of a QB

Bradshaw also had the best defense in the history of football plus no free agency to deal with team turnover

I love Terry... he was my QB. My hero But I would take Ben in his prime over Terry in his.

    TB 12-0 in Bowl years
2-4 (40%) in other 10 years of career
Made playoffs 9 of 14 years
    64%: of he time

    BEN 9-1 in Bowl years
4-9 (44%) in other 14 years of career
Made playoffs 12 out of 17 years 70%of the time

Bob Greise has 2 rings with the dolphins... not one dolphin fan thinks he was better than Marino

No one thinks Trent Dilfer and his 1 ring was more clutch than Marino

No one things Eli Manning going 2 and 0 against Brady in the SB makes him better

There is an argument to be made that if not for Jackie Smith dropping the easiest TD pass ever. Bradshaw might be sitting at 3-1...Mendenhall doesn't fumble maybe Ben is 3-0

I really think the issue is people remember Bens last few years, c but most dint think about Bradshaw last few.... most were not old enough to have been watching 1982 Terry

As you said no need to turn this into another round of who is #1. The numbers speak for themselves... the two sides just choose to interpret then differently

I'm tapping out on this thread... the rest of you are right, I'm wrong... no need to start calling names..

    Terry>Kenny>Ben

I was going to say Pickett seems to be hitting over the middle in stride way better than we've seen in years.

But this take is way over the top

Cool your heels boys, unless we get better OL play no QB will have success.

Hell Joe Montana could not have any success with the way this OL is playing.

Hack, I agree with you completely, for real. Ben was a much better overall QB than TB, and I'll go to my grave believing that. The interesting dynamic you omitted, however, was their coaches. TB had the luxury of one of the greatest coaching minds in the history of pro football, while Ben was hamstrung with an average at best Mike Dumblin for most of his career. How many SB's would Ben have if he was coached by the Emperor, and conversely how many would TB have if he was coached by Dumblin? Tough to answer, but no way in hell Dumblin could build & sustain a dynasty like the Emperor did, even in the era without free agency. Dumblin can't even figure out when & where to use challenges, and his in-game adjustments are mostly pathetic.

Makes me feel for Kenny, too, because like Ben, he's never gonna know how many Championships he could have won without Dumblin roaming the sideline...if an average coach is what you want, Dumblin is the man. Because of the Emperor, however, my standards are set at finding a GREAT coach.

    Terry > Ben

While Terry won 4 with the Steel curtain, the early 2000's Steelers D was not chopped liver and may have been in the top 10 all time. Ben only has two with that D, and I ask any of you to rewatch the 4th quarter of 2010 SB XLV and then revisit the question.

Worst offensive line ever to win the super bowl!

But the bengals were very close to surpass that last year!

Not too great a of a line but that group looks like the old Redskins Hogg's Oline compared to the one we have now.
