It’s not that hard to do. It did take me a minute the first time I tried it with those loose items. If I have a lot of stuff like that I’ll usually head for the regular line.

 

I can’t speak for how it is in the areas in which you live, but in Missouri right now retail businesses are severely understaffed. There’s either a worker shortage or people don’t want to do those lower level jobs. So it’s not like I using the self check out your costing anyone a job.

 

Help wanted signs everywhere here in W PA

A lot of places are only running 5 days a week

Anybody collecting unemployment should be forced to work sweep streets paint a bridge check out groceries and nuts and bolts

We have Restaurants ( good ones ) that are open like 4 days a week, from like 11:00 until 4:00, Can't hire anyone...

The funny part with my Town and surrounding towns is...Dollar Stores are popping up left and right, some right down the road from the other one...But the kicker is, the ones that are already " open " are ready to " close " ... Because they can't find people to work but...

They keep building new ones LMAO

 

Self-checkout saves on labor, which is the biggest component of their operating expense. It’s here to stay.

 

Was this an apples to apples situation? In other words, was our DL backups going against their OL backups or did they mostly have starters against or backups? I don't know myself so just wondering.

 

Let's hope whoever is our QB we don't call plays that are dink and dunk and release in 1 second or we'll have the same issues as over the past few years. Defense having 11 in the box and screwing our run game to boot.

I like Walmart pickup service and use it every week. I haven't stepped foot in a local Walmart since 2019.

 

I went about 7 years without stepping foot in any walmart. I'd say in the past decade I have been in their stores less than 10 times. Most often it is when we are going on a camping trip somewhere and need to stop on the way for things we forgot. Usually it's just going in to use the restroom and drag my wife out cause she is taking too long while I wait in the truck. There's just something about going into stores and seeing a bunch of people at 3 o'clock in the afternoon shopping in their pajama's. My wife doesn't like me going in there either cause I walk around pointing at people and laugh.

 

I've never been a "browser"....a.k.a.... somebody who likes to look around in a store and take hours doing it. I know what I want... and if I do go into a store, I get my sh!t, buy it and get out.

 

I'm the same exact way. My wife and I are complete opposites in every sense of the word on everything in life. Weird that it works for us that way. No matter what store my wife is in she browses for what seems like days and ALWAYS has to sift thru the clearance section. I'm like Let's Go! This is crap that nobody wanted!.

 

I do know of a few old ladies that have lost there jobs at Walmart over it. I'm sure it maybe different everywhere.

 

I'm just saying.....I noticed it when You said something 2 the affect of....One guy Im surprised none are bringing up. That's not an exact quote mind you. LoL

 

The world evolves and things change. There’s plenty of jobs out there to be had especially at the pay level of a cashier at a grocery store.
Plus no offense but I’d rather use self check out than be waited on by some slow ass old lady.

 

Or stop eating fast food
