15 or 16 of the 'gals games last year were decided by a td or less. The 3 PO games by a FG. Not disrespectful of what they accomplished, I do not believe they were or are the best team in the AFC. That said they were the better team enough weeks to get to the show and nearly get the prize.

They whooped us both games last year, yes they need to be bummed out after the first game lol

I was referring to when they were playing teams, not which teams they play. My comment was in response to someone else pointing out that the first six games look very challenging. The weakest team in there, the Jets, look like they are greatly improved. I thought that was clear from the way I wrote about them having to incorporate many new faces on offense while they deal with a difficult opening stretch of games.

I remember the "Playoff Bowl" played from 1960 through 1969. It was between the second place teams in the Eastern and Western divisions. The Steelers Bobby Layne led team made the Playoff Bowl in 1962 but lost to the Lions.

Vince actually said this about the old Playoff Bowl - played in Miami by the teams that lost to the teams that played in the NFL Title game: “It’s a hinky dinky game, played by hinky dinky teams in a hinky dinky town”. Tough words from someone in Green Bay Wisconsin to bag on Miami Fla. But I hate Miami, so I’m on board.

Ugh. The long wait until a game that counts.

A bit of mystery and potential excitement this season. A lot of the faithful thinking Trubisky may play better than expected, or if he fails, we get to see the rookie QB play. Either way, something different happening this season.

60 years ago when Lombardi said this, Miami was still a developing city. In 1900 Miami only had 300 people living there and by 1960 had half a million. Today it has around 7 million residents. So Miami of today is much different from the one Lombardi knew 60 years ago.

Plus there is a home Pitt football game the day before

Hard turnaround to clean and paint field plus a lot of wear on the grass

Slow news day so I hopped onto an old thread but my question deals only with the pre-season game with the Seahawks - why in the world would the Seahawks schedule a game where they have to fly across the country to play a meaningless pre-season game? Not like it's a warm up for an in-season game which happens from time to time but this makes no sense to me. The expense, the extra down time, leaving all that great Pac North seafood...........! Maybe they're used to this with so few teams west of the Rockies and out of their division.

Much better to fly across the country when it’s meaningless and you’re in the middle of training camp.
