    Winner....Winner....Winner.
    I totally agree.
Whomever gives us the best chance, and I don't give a dang who it is.

You had me until you started talking about trading anyone. You keep all 3 QBs for the entire year. Right now all 3 of their salaries added together is still cheaper than most starting QBs in the league.

I am with you on it truly being an open competition this year with the best man winning.

I hope the Steelers are selfish bastards and keep all 3 QBs on the roster just because they can! :)

I agree. My thoughts on any trade would be for after the season.

you also didn’t read what I said. I said name me a guy who was “pro ready” that wasn’t behind a hall of famer. All those guys you just named were hall of famers. No shame in sitting behind them regardless of how ready you are. Pickett is going to sit behind a guy who couldn’t even get a starting job as a free agent last yr…

Yea I don’t like the way they are treating this QB competition the first few days of camp. It makes no sense to have him sit behind Rudolph and literally taking no snaps in practice at training camp. He was the most NFL ready QB in the draft and to have him continue to not be involved or get any reps just makes no sense to me. Why are they keeping Mason Rudolph still around when they have shown no belief in him what so ever and raved about Pickett when they selected him. It just makes no sense to me and hopefully it changes soon as we move further into training camp and the preseason.

You forgot "pro ready" Aaron Rodgers. How many seasons did he sit behind Favre?

Reading that Trub has only started 9 games last two season. I'm pretty sure he will be under center in Cincinnati but if we go south early in season I hope they throw Pickett in there for a learning season. Not sure if Steelers would go that route. Then again maybe the red nose reindeer will shock and awe us.

Funny, Speaking of Patrick Mahomes; Is he the new Jennifer Aniston?

Back in the day when the TV shows FRIENDS was on, I would have sworn that every other girl out their was wearing the "Rachel" hair cut, inspired by Jennifer Aniston. Flash forward to last week; I popped into a Planet Fitness in Colorado for a quick workout, and it was packed with teenagers and I could have sworn that half of them were sporting the Patrick Mahomes hair cut.

That Hair cut is old as sin. Hell I wore it for 30 years(but with long hair), and just stopped about 5 years ago....because I got tired of doing it.

you also didn’t read. Mahomes was NOT considered pro ready coming out. He was drafted high due to his talent.

Sorry, but coming out of the Big 12 conference Mahomes was a 3 year starter, taking over the starting roll during his freshman year and as Pro Ready as they get.

What awards did Patrick Mahomes win in college?
    • 2016 Sammy Baugh Trophy winner
    • 2016 Second Team All-Big 12
    • 2015 All-Big 12 Honorable Mention
    • 2014 All-Big 12 Honorable Mention
    • 2014 Freshman Offensive Player of the Year
    • Six-team Big 12 Offensive Player of the Week

so? Tim Tebow had a far more prestigious college career? Was he pro ready? Lamar jackson won the Heismen and every award and people here will still tell he isn’t ready as an nfl passer.

Listen to his draft profile remarks “Mahomes will be a work in progress, but he's a high ceiling, low floor prospect.”

WOW, so even looking back now at his 2018 NFL MVP award and winning the Super Bowl LIV the following season, you are trying to argue that Patrick Mahomes was not Pro Ready when he came out in 2017?

But, in your defense Alex Smith did make the Pro Bowl in 2016 and 2017 for the Chiefs. So they did not have a huge need for Patrick to play in 2017.

Also... A big FU moment to Alex Smith for sneaking the ball off the field after he was sacked at the end of the Was-Pit 1st half; causing the refs to stop the clock when they noticed they didn't have a football to start the clock. Washington, was then allowed to bring on their FG team for the last play of the half. The Steelers winning streak was over.

I'm not sure if you were being sarcastic or not, but I think we may see the best Mason yet. I look at Mitch as nothing more than Tomzcak 2.0. While Mason has been on the roster, he should not be given the job by default. He should earn it and bringing someone in from the outside to make him work for it is the best thing that can happen to him. How he responds is what will make or break him.

not to be a buzz kill but the word going around is that Mason is off to a good start in camp and showing the accuracy of a number 1 QB, a lot of dog days ahead but thats the latest

Hard to say. I’m just saying he was universally regarded as not ready to step in from day 1. His upside and talent was what made him a high prospect. I believe that one year sitting did help mahomes a lot.

and yeah wasn’t like smith was a bum and this was a sb ready team. This situation is similar to the 49ers rn. Have a sb ready team but have a whole with limitations so you draft a high talented guy with upside to hopefully take you over the top.

Don't blame Alex Smith for that...blame the dumb a$$ refs. They acted like they were confused.
