"I didn't really like playing center"

We didn't either. His struggles got out of hand and they should have inserted Hassenauer sooner.

The blame is at the feet of Tomlin, Colbert and Canada.

At least he is competing for his natural position now.

Is there an article to go along with this, or is it from a Camp interview I can find?

Hoping they keep JC on the 53 as our backup center, so we never have to see Green play Center again.

Kendrick's biggest problem was he couldn't keep his feet, especially against more aggressive bigger DT's, he would lose his feet and keep getting driven back, or would lose it completely and couldn't block the guy and then he was a turnstile.

Center is a hard position. Your the leader of the group, you got to make calls, your also helping the QB with those calls at times. Then you got to snap it clean (in good or bad weather), and then you got to block a guy and not screw up.

I played it for 6 years and I don't care what level of football it is, its hard and not easy. Tip your cap to the Webster, Dawson and Pouncey. They did it good for a long time.

In high school I went out to a Wednesday practice and was dipping 3-4 practice balls in a bucket of water and snapping them at pre-practice. My coach came out and gave me the riot act for getting 4 of his footballs wet. I told him its suppose to rain Friday you should check the forecast. He paused, told me I was smarter than I looked, and then he made me run a 3 laps for being mouthy.
It poured like hell that Friday all day and during the game ( we played on grass, not field turf, like today's spoiled kids) , and we never fumbled the snap, the opposing team fumbled the snap 3 times in the game.
    We won 14-7.
He told me after that game walking back to the locker room, that is why you play Center and not Guard, because your too smart for guard.

    Bottom line Center is hard.

Toot my own horn. LOL glory days..

You forgot Hartings the rather unsung hero in the middle between Dawson and Pouncey. I don't think people respected how good he was until he was done and was replaced by some real garbage bin guys.

He isn't very stout for a Guard though. It will depend on the system Steelers run, but he might struggle regardless.

Don't bother, people on this board seem to think he was undersized for a center....doesn't matter how many facts you throw at them.

I blame all the elite celebrities (and I use those words very loosely) who didn't move to Canada.........Or I could still just blame Matt Canada.

Never said he was undersized ... I'm purely talking about strength.

This guy always winds up on the ground man. Never seen him push a DT back. If Dotson gets his crap together Green won't see the field this year.

Better make sure that you know what YOU are talking about before you try dunking on people. You are the last person I would go to for "facts." I'm just stating an opinion on what I see. I don't personally attack anyone with insults on this board. If I disagree, I will point out why and state my case. But you are trying peg me for some dumbass just because you disagree. Talk about ignorant.

Hartings also played Guard with he Lions not Center.

I think Hartings was a guy Colbert knew was good and took away from Detroit when he left and came here. After a couple years of Kevin being Hartings came via Free Agency. But he did a great job transitioning over to Center and was solid for many seasons as well.

Good call. Jeff Hartings was a good football player. Never seems to get the credit he deserves.

I think his signing along with Farrior were two of the most unheralded moves the team made in the last 2 decades.

Drafting a G to play C in the NFL who only filled in at the position for a handful of games in college, who really didn't even want to play C. What could possibly go wrong with that? Good job coach, good job.
