not at all. You’re missing the point. Ben is pointing fingers at other people, but ignoring the fact he at times was definitely a me first player. People in glass houses shouldn’t throw stones

How was he a Me First player? He balled out for the team.

Read the article he gives numerous examples of his me first behavior. Whether he balled or not is irrelevant

Steelers should have moved on at QB after 2018 when the Super Bowl window closed.

Personally, I would have rather kept the QB and moved on from the head coach and all the assistants.

Not only is he right, we can all most likely name the exact players he was talking about.

As for the he should be quiet. .i disagree... he is no different than Ryan Clark or any other media personality

I think Ben hates being irrelevant and is dissatisfied with his legacy.

Also, has a pretty big ego which causes him to open his mouth when he should not.

Bradshaw whined about Noll for who knows how long, so we have seen our two most important QB`s being a bit ungrateful when they are done.

Yeah, I read it. And of course he's not going to name names because that's not how passive-aggressive Ben works.

C'mon man. We've seen it all before from the Drama Queen.

Oh wait. Now he's walking it back and saying he should have been more specific. No kidding.

As for the actual statement itself, oh yeah, Hines was such a total team guy. His quest for 1000 receptions was ridiculously me-first.

It seems like several Steelers players have issues with the organization pre and post-retirement. Bradshaw, Ward, Polamalu, Harrison, Decatro, not to mention the clowns. Roethlisberger frustrates me, because if he thought he could still play, he should have found another team. I would imagine it is very hard for players to adjust from being glorified to being normalized and minimized.

It has everything to do with what happens on the field.

Because "Me First" guys become problems when it spills onto the field.

When we needed AB and LevBell they weren't there to be found. When we needed Claypool to get his @$$ back to the huddle he was off dancing.

Just look at his point of view ... the TEAM he walked into in 2005. Those guys were tight.

Only problem with Ben is he doesn't have much of a filter when he gives interviews. But is he wrong though...

I can't find the yawn button.
Who cares. The Man is not on the team anymore.
TB12 was correct when He told Ben .....just wait....they will turn on You.
Now on 2 people that are actually on this team.

Some people don't want 2 play for another team.
Polamalu said the exact same thing.....He could still play, but He didn't want 2 play for another team, and I'm personally glad He didn't.

Not disputing this nor looking for WWIII but what about Hirohito and Mao Tse-Tung? Rather eccentric and self-centered I'd say and not exactly western culture. :hmm:

Which is fine. Then the player needs to keep his complaints to himself as Polamalu did. I believe complaining tarnishes a player's career to a degree with that organization.

I'm sure we can find many more examples of the contrary. I was just more centered on our own culture.

Shoot, Ben bringing attention to himself just days before camp and needing to clarify what he meant was example of his own selfishness.

But Polamalu didn't keep it 2 himself..., or I would never had heard it.

Yes and no. I think he was unhappy about how it went down, I think he decided to stay away for a bit and focus on other things like his role in college football those first few years. There were people who noticed though and people with a platform and so we heard about it. I'm not sure I can remember Troy ever saying he was upset with how it went down or complaining he still had enough left in him although a lot of us felt that way too. Ward was very similar he felt he had enough left on him in a limited role and wanted to stay. The restructuring of these guys deals is what makes the targets for cap savings and it hard for them to accept it. Ben is experiencing that now.

Most players, with few exceptions, get to end his career the way they want.

Based on nfl.com Ben’s average ranking as a QB over his last 3 seasons was 32

    Out of 32 teams

It’s clear where part of the problem was

Purely in hindsight but the team should have moved on after 2018

When you play that poorly you should not be passing judgement
