I remember watching that game, the Steelers pounded the All Stars when the storm hit. That was the last of the NFL champion vs. college All Star game ever played.

There is no way. To much money at stake for all involved. College guys dreaming of millions, pros risking millions and owners risking that much I investment.

I remember when a college baseball team beat the Pirates which is not so far fetched.

I remember that happening at least once. The always dangerous Manatee Community College. In fairness, Manatee did have several guys who had been Florida high school all stars the year before.

I would actually like to see something like this other that the current pro bowl which is garbage. Again the risk of injury would prevent any notables from.playing, but would be fun setting a very basic game and letting them have a go at it.

I used to leave school to watch the orioles play an exhibition game against the midshipmen every year. Watching the likes of Jim Palmer and Eddie Murray playing in front of a couple hundred people.

My dad had a friend who filled in as a major league ump during an umpire's strike. He was the home plate ump during an Oriole game that Palmer was pitching and wasn't used to seeing elite breaking balls. He called Palmer's first curve ball a ball a split second too soon as Palmer's curve broke late and across the plate for a strike. Palmer charged off the mound and called the ump every cuss word in the book. The ump told my dad that he didn't say a word back to Palmer because he knew that he blew the call.

Miami is the only reason I have hope of ever seeing a WS again. Back in early 2000's they caught lightning in a bottle and won with a low payroll. Needless to say they got rid of the players after that.
