Man, Rooney said he was open to leaving them up just a few days ago ... he probably already had scheduled to take them down when he said that, but was afraid to say it ...

I'd be willing to bet the fine details of the deal were not completely understood by AR2 and that Acrisure was not prepared for the backlash the deal would make to their reputation. I'm sure they thought, we invest all this money, get their name on the stadium maybe some branding done. Then Rooney say he is hoping to continue the partnership with Heinz Corp and Acrisure is getting smacked about by the fans and some former players and boom.
They flex their contractual muscles and say nope they are gone or we are with our money.

I can remember, when we first, were taking on the name Heinz. And were the butt of many jokes and off-handed slurs. It will take some time getting used to, but so was the mascot, bumblebee uni's, ketchup bottles, yellow seats ... etc. I, just hope, that the new contract, expands/improve the stadium and relieve the city of extra taxes and cheaper tickets at the gate. Acrisure(see what I did there? ... lol) you of one thing ... if these things occur ... we would be more then willing ... to forget about the previous name. Remember, the name of the field, doesn't erase the history or memories.

    That is disappointing.

Watch them POP-UP in Kansas City. I think Patrick Mahomes is their go to guy.

EDIT:: I just read that Mahomes has switched to Hunts for all his Ketchup needs.

That must be a "Kid" thing as I remember putting Ketchup on everything when I was a little kid. I guess it has something to do with the sugar content of ketchup.

Yeah, AR2, successful businessman and lawyer, with his own army of marketeers and lawyers, got duped by a slick outta state insurance company. Makes you wonder how he managed to fleece WEstern Pa taxpayers.

AR2 knew two things: 1) Acrisure was paying him 2x what Heinz did and
    2) after having their hissed fit, yinzers would accept this, just like they accepted personal seat licenses.

Are you familiar with all the legal speak that goes into contract signing? I'm not and I'm not a successful business person. That being said don't you find it a bit strange that he says publicly that he hopes to continue their long partnership with the Heinz Corporation in some form or another including keeping the Heinz Red Zone and ketchup bottles and a few days and lots if negative press later they are removed? Wouldn't you think a business man such as Art would know if the deal with Acrisure involved the removal of nearly all the branding of the previous company who held the naming rights? Seems like the sort of thing that would loom large in the first 10 pages of the contract and something Art would know before a press conference where he welcomes the new sponsor but tries to remain loyal to the old. Unless you know they for whaterever reason buried the language on page 211 subsection 3 paragraph IV.III that reads something like the signed waives all right to decisions about branding in conjunction with the aforementioned naming rights should party 1 find the terms of current branding to not be consistent with all rights and privileges presented by the signed prior to the agreement by party 1 to pay (dollar amount entered here) to the signed for such rights as defined in section 3 addendum 3 but not limited to the rights defined in section 6 subsection 2 as agreed on by both the signee and party 1.
This is not limited in scope to any rights signed by party 2 and party 1 as limited by the governing body of the collegiate sports in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and as a member of the NCAA. Should any difference of opinion be brought forth by party 1 or party 2 the signee must at cost explore full legal arbitration for the resolution of these matters before the proper governing body. See section 7 for further limits and exceptions to the subset rules included with in this section but not limited to appendix C.

I don't find it hard to believe the bottles are gone. It may have been a heinz decision to get rid of them. It definitely sucks and was a bummer to see. But it's merely decoration. Symbolic decoration, but decoration.

Maybe when AR2 made that statement there were still ongoing negotiations with Heinz and/or acrisure that didn't go as he hoped?

They should replace them with Car Wrecks, Beneficiary settlements, Home Lightning strikes, Floods, Earthquakes, Wildfires, Riots and Lawyer fees. That possibly will strike fear in opposing teams.

Please do not attempt to open that bottle until you read the appropriate disclosures. Then just DocuSign your binder.....and you're ready to eat.

2x the money? According to the Post Gazette ots far more than that. The deal is the 4th highest Nami g rights in the NFL and reportedly starts at 10 us a year and can go up to 20.

I hate it, but glad twinkies or Charmin did not get the bid. Got to always look for the positive.
