we miss AB's blocking. plax can't hurt, but when cotch is back healthy, we should be good to go for the PO's. our full alotment and plax. interesting.

Tomlin acted like he won't see much playing time. Saying the signings, Plax and Hoyer were there as insurance, he expected to win games with the guys we already had on the roster. Now, this may be another Tomlinism, or he may be downplaying how much they expect Plax to be involved. With 45 catches last year, and 8 td's, I certainly hope that he would be at least our 3rd receiver. With such short notice, he may not see many snaps.

i agree, he may not see many this week and they may be just teaching him certain sets for now. like redzone patterns and such this week.

I can handle several Redzone patterns...In fact if I was a coach, that would be the first thing to work on.

I think he was referring to the guys he already has on the roster, when I saw a similar quote by him, it was before the Plax and Hoyer signings were complete. Brown and Cotch aren't playing so Plax is definitely seeing the field this weekend and I'm sure he will even when those guys are back.

i know one thing, the coaches have their hands full this week with a 3rd string qb , a PS wr., a new wr., a backup RT and two division rivals, and 3 out of 4 games on the road. that's alot to work on in a week and to look forward to.

Love the picture of Plax and AB. Plax looks almost giddy to be back in B&G.

That's a fact, Jack. But then wouldn't you? On the couch for the last 11 weeks, now with a chance to win another Superbowl.

Think Id have asked Hines back before Plax (maybe they did I dont know). Perhaps Plax was in better game shape than Hines.Just think Hines would have been better choice than Plax at this time.If conditioning were equal.

Not sure Hines is in playing shape, but even if he were, I thing the FO made the right choice. Hines was having some serious issues gaining any kind of separation last year. Plax's height alone gives him instant separation in the RZ. I love Hines, but Plax was the best option.

Totally agree Jack, add to what you said, I just remember Hines getting killed out on the field last year. Also, Plax is a better redzone threat then Hines.

No doubt Plax is the better RZ target at 6-5 but having Hines on field is like having a 2nd or third TE on field with his blocking.Gotta give a little to get a little.Tough choice.
