No he was very good for 6 years but best no

And no if he wanted to retire a Steeler he shouldn’t have quit on the Steelers

    He quit nothing less

People have to learn to live with the decisions they make

They have to live with what people think of them

You might want to learn from that but I doubt it

I can't think of many (or any) 6 year career spans that top AB's when it comes to changing the outcome of games (minus qb's).

I don’t disagree but 6 years isn’t the base of a great career

    10 plus ok

    Ok

The word eta was the comment I referenced

I’ll give credit he had 6 very good years

So did a lot of others

6 years doesn’t make a career especially not his

AB needs to go away quietly. He's burned so many bridges...Steelers and goat Brady. Brown should not be considered for HOF. His selfishness has let down so many people. Hines Ward should be the next Steeler inducted into HOF....and then Ben, of course.

If he had played his last game with Pittsburgh against the Bengals for a chance to go to the playoffs, he would have had a much better case for a new 1 day contract.

He will get his return to Pittsburgh when he enters the Steelers Hall of Honor. As a member of the Steelers he was a 7 time Pro Bowl player and 4 time All Pro.

Sign him to the one day if he agrees to give back the money he still got paid and cost us cap space when he left.

Sure it won’t bump our cap, but if we couldn’t spend it I don’t think he should either. He’s the one who decided to be an unprofessional baby and leave while scorching the earth and burning bridges on his way out the door.

    F#€£ him…!!!

He chose to embarrass the organization and himself, then kept on embarrassing himself with other franchises. He chose to no longer be a Steeler, to screw over his team and his teammates. He made the comment while he was trying to sell tickets to a performance of some kind in Pittsburgh, so he likely doesn't even mean it. We can acknowledge his greatness while he was here while at the same time choosing not to give him any further honors in Pittsburgh. He isn't a Steeler anymore because he chose not to be one. Now he gets to live with that choice.

When someone treats you like ****, which is how he treated the Steelers, you don't kiss their ass just because they tell you that's what they want. Maybe if he offered an apology for his behavior it would be worth considering. Maybe if he talked about why he wants to retire a Steeler and acknowledged what the organization did for him, it would be worth considering. He didn't do that. He just Tweeted about what he wants like the selfish ass that he is.

If you want to talk about good seasons, he had eight of them as a Steeler. The only one that doesn't qualify was his rookie year, when he didn't get to play much. Among those was a five-year stretch during which he was the best player in the game at his position. Has any other Steeler in the last 10 years been the best in the game at his position for even three seasons? Maybe Watt?

I read stats quickly and missed 2011. That makes seven. I don’t think 2012 counts as a good year. And I have a hard time calling 2018 a good year when he was a distraction snd walked out in the team.

I’m just jaded by the stupidity I guess.

If you’re married for years and then your wife starts sleeping with 4 different people I’m not sure you try to remember the early years.

I think both sides of this brings up great points. I personally would not sign him to a one-day contract and retire as a Steeler; however, I just wouldn't be upset if the Rooney's put water under the bridge and signed him to that deal.

ab Is easily the best receiver we have had, I don’t like him but no agenda there with me. Should he retire a steeler no. If he would have left without trashing us sure. Can’t backstab people and expect them to do whatever you want.

That has been my point all along, that many of us can't or won't see how great he was because we are pissed at him for being such an idiot.

I don't agree with you at times. You come across as a pompous ass.... abrasive and prickly. But your posts are highly entertaining....well thought out and enlightening.

Keep on keeping on! I salute you.

Is their no principle in the world anymore? Is telling the truth a lost art? Do bending
over backwards to satisfy a superstar, renegotiating his contract/s numerous times mean
nothing? Would other players not as talented as AB get this preferential treatment? He is a whack job,he quit on the PGH Steelers, I think the Steelers should quit on him too. There are 2 types of people in this world givers and takers. He is a taker. Be done with these people that lie and spread misinformation. Are these the type of people you want to associate with? Not me.

I am even more sure now that it wasn't a genuine request. It was meant to try to get attention with him coming to town for a show. I have no idea what sort of show it is, but I'm sure it was about selling a few more tickets.

The show which I think was a rap album release was delayed because he decided to do something else that day

I bet we get the same BS when the next date gets closer

Edit: What do you know AB was a no show and failed to live up to a contract.

This is probably the fault of Ben or BA as well.

Let’s see the kid spin this.

His Era was the 2010s pretty much. Of this Era, who was better then him in the 2010s? For 6 straight years he had the best stretch.
