Trubisky will win #7 for Steelers, so all this is moot.

Dan I believe was still listed as a team advisor to the Dolphins President at his official retirement in 2017..yes you read that correctly. He never submitted his retirement papers to the league. In 2017 he signed a 1 day contract and officially retired and remarked thar being a FA for 16 years and not being called was kind of upsetting lol.

I have no idea if it was/is a paid position. Likely gets paid a fee for certain promotional activities.

I'm guessing Ben was thinking how tiny Pickett's hands are.

I was only questioning it as we all know how upset, arrogant and unsupportive he was of Mason Rudolph being drafted. Would he now be happy for Steeler Nation getting a potential franchise QB in the first round.

Ben reached out to Pickett. Classy move, IMO.

I didn’t see this coming based on previous experience

Maybe he doesn’t feel intimidated or unloved by a rookie quarterback anymore

Or maybe He was just finished, and ready 2 hang it up.
I mean what do You get out of Pittsburgh fans....TB12 took the team 2 four SBs.....,and the disrespect, and hate I heard for Him afterwards was beyond ridiculous....
Then Ben takes the team 2 three SBs, and He gets the same exact crap.
Yet same so called Steelers fans give excuses after excuses for A. Rodgers, Lamar Jackson, Dan Marino, Mike Vick, and others.
Hell I've seen more people stick up for Kordell, and Malone then Bradshaw, and Ben.
People will say that's not true, but before there was a Ben for everyone's troubles for the team....there was a Bradshaw.....I remember it Well. Hell there's a reason He didn't want 2 comeback 2 the city for so long.

    Some did at first

    I wasn’t one

For 30 years the lady who sat behind me kept yelling to put Hanratty in but I think it was his mother and for 20 of those years Hanratty wasn’t even on the team

I could care less about what #7 thinks of Kenny Pickett. Ani hope Kenny feels the same. Keep your nose to the grindstone Kenny keep learning and working and the cream will rise to the top.

I see what you're saying here. Ben is a bona-fide yellow jacket wearer. Until there's some sort of correction in the QB cap market, I think almost all QBs are going to struggle winning championships post their rookie contract, there's always exceptions to the rule though. My only disconnect with Ben was the 20 and 21 seasons. Up until that point I was always happy to see Ben out there. It was tough seeing his curtain call nonetheless. He's our best QB of my lifetime, and was the QB the bulk of my adult life. Tons of respect for him

Now that I think about it... Roethlisberger was the QB for most of my adult life:

    Brister: 3 years
    O'Donnell: 4 years
    Tomczak: 1 year
    Stewart: 5 years
    Maddox: 2 years
    Roethlisberger: 18 years

I'm 10 years older....graduated in '90 from HS. I included Brister years from age 16.

In the early years steeler fans were calling fir his neck. Was there not some cheering when he got injured. The lowest was when he was benched for Jefferson Street Joe. Not much respect in those first years.

The cream will certainly rise as long as he learns how to beat off defenders, small hands or not.
