He was still a very young player in the league. I’m not absolving Bell of anything but proper guidance never hurt anyone.

A vet could certainly persuaded Bell not to light up if he wanted to. If you want to believe Blount was being a role model there, thats your choice.

where did you come up with the idea I thought Blount was a role model? I e said the whole time a Bell was a grown man and responsible for his own decisions. It shouldn’t take mr sucker punch to convince him driving around smoking weed is stupid

way to rewrite effing history. Blount quit on the Steelers during a game. After being released he resigned with patriots. I guess in Tomlin is the devil world that’s known as helping the patriots

Strummer come on man, this is silly. It’s not like people have never been talked out of doing something dumb.

“Hey bro, can’t be lighting up, you’re in the NFL now. Not only are you driving but there is an automatic 6 game suspension for smoking weed for first offense.” (Or whatever it is).

He didn’t try, I guarantee it, thats what my role model comment was about.

They should never cut anyone ever again because they may help another team.

I had a 1959 Willys CJ5 rag top 4 cylinder flathead with a 688 rear end. Top speed was 45 mph. It could drive up a telephone pole.

I miss it and have actually been checking the antique auctions etc

Yes instead of releasing a player most teams will trade them to ensure bad things don’t happen. It’s not rewriting history Tomlin screwed up period. You guys claim he was a cancer on the team and there was no hope of getting production out of him. Then why did the Patriots gets so much out of the same player?

There you have it. It doesn't matter whether you're loved or hated in this world. Either way, in the end you just end up forgotten in someone's jug somewhere.

Blount had 148 yards and 3 TDs in the AFC championship game. Helping the Patriots to a Super Bowl. You prevent that by trading him to a non playoff team in the NFC.

He quit because Tomlin wouldn’t give him 5-7 touches a game when the Steelers were up 20 points. He didn’t want to be the starter he wanted to play a few snaps and give Bell a little rest. He didn’t want to feel like a cheerleader he wanted to help. I wouldn’t call that a problem. Tomlin could have made home happy New England certainly did.
