Probably went Hoyer over Kafka in case they should happen to play the Pats in the playoffs. Pick at his brain a little bit.

    Per Steelers Depot on twitter:
One year $615 K deal for Brian Hoyer. Non guaranteed. No signing bonus.

at this point i do not see where signing a WR and then cutting a WR would make sense...since as of now they are down 2 WRs

Presumably Batch still starts. I also presume Gilreath will stay ahead of Plax on the depth chart. Not sure who gets cut, though. One of the TEs, perhaps?

His agent was probably in his right ear saying "Hold out, the Steelers are desperate. Come Wednesday it will be guaranteed, 1 million, with a 200k bonus" and his wife in his left ear saying "Brian - I don't want to go back to the OWS community ever again- take it".

Sounds right. That's the 3yr vet minimum.

More money? When he sees the line, he will turn and run completely out of Pennsylvania.

Steelers add a WR and a QB -- Plaxico Burress and Brian Hoyer. Marshall McFadden and Baron Batch get cut.

I knew they wouldnt be cutting Gilreath. B Batch is a small surprise...he's nothing spectacular but has been OK...I'm sure he'll be back later (not sure if he can go on the PS or not)

Interesting. I didn't see Batch getting cut. He'll be back, but not who I'd guessed.

can't cut injured players w/o repercussions i think. they should have just IRd him, would have saved them the roster spot and it's not like Lefty is going to come back and blow anyone away.

really bummed (for non-football reasons) they cut Baron, i like the kid
