But why the small speedy WR experiment again that they've tried for years and never pans out? I would have much rather seen us add to the secondary, Oline, Dline or LB.

we signed a guard/center and a guard in free agency. How are we going into the season with the same offensive line?

McFarland might not make the team, if he doesn't step up and show something in training camp.

Tackle though. That's what we need 1st and 2nd rounder on. A tackle. Then we good to go.

I'm wondering if Claypool might be traded. Especially if Pickens shines in OTA's and camp.

We took two wideouts who we'd be happy to cut right now.

    There’s no depth currently.

Must mean a signing is coming.

Perhaps they've drafted poor tweeners who were speedy. Austin is a pure WR. Not a Tweeners. And he is for real good. Not a gimmick player.

I'm quite excited but the pickup. Let's see how this one plays out

They can laugh but they won't be able to catch him. He'll blow by Hamilton like the Roadrunner past the Coyote.

more than likely they’re saying crap the Steelers fixed their line, added another big receiver, and a guy that can take the top off

Austin is a much better receiver than Gunner. Gunner is a special teamer who can play WR in a pinch. Austin is a WR who can return punts in a pinch.

It doesn't at all really. I wouldn't jump to that conclusion right away.

It shows how they felt about every WR after Claypool on the team. We only had 2 WR's I was confident about being NFL caliber receivers on the roster prior to the draft. Not surprised at all. We were HURTING at the WR position. Boykin, Sims, Miller could all be cut (and were cut by their previous teams) at any given point. We have a punt/kick return specialist as the last WR. We needed help there. We very likely could have drafted two receivers who will be in our top 4 WR's this upcoming season.

They won't do Claypool like that. Can't make him call picks then send him packing. That ain't right. :)

Off the top of my head (and I'm not talking about just drafting), McCloud,Switzer, Henderson, Stevens-Howling, Archer, Rainey etc, there have been more but those are the ones I can think of, all small and speedy, how many times has it worked out? I hope I'm wrong about Austin but he certainly fits that same mold as the guys above.
