I dunno - we'll see but I am gonna root hard for the kid. I remember some people saying Marino was an overrated INT machine and we know how that turned out.

Funny, when you get old a year or 2 is meaningless but in Pro sports it matters. Say Pickett comes into his own 2-3 years in. He'll be 27-28 leading our boys. He could give us 10-12 years.

I know that, I was making fun of some of the fans thinking they wanted a running QB like Willis .

Franco Harris kind of gave the pick away last night with his eye popping reaction when he read the card.

The only people that ever talk about the no losing seasons are the fans, and the media, you never hear anybody from the Steelers mention it.

I hope this doesn't end up being like the Brees/ Rivers situation. Trubisky excels in the Steelers offense and wins playoff games. Steelers end up letting Trubisky go...and Pickett ends up being like Rivers....great stats but no playoff success. Trubisky goes to another team and has more success. It could happen.

We need to look at this holistically. Pickett/Willis this year or Kedon Slovis/Spencer Rattler/J.T. Daniels next. Those are the QBs that will be available next year when we draft. We won’t be bad enough to get one of the top three QBs.

What an oddly specific thing to be afraid of.... I mean, yes, theoretically it could. But, that is highly unlikely for a lot of reasons. Also Brees was drafted by the Chargers. Stunk it up for 2 years so they went Rivers in the first. Brees played well and got a gig with NO and the rest is history. Its not like he was given 3-4 years starting without much success, became a back up, then magically turned it around on his 3rd team. Quite a different situation.

Would love to see them both be successful in Pittsburgh. Kinda hope Pickett ends up the better player since he is the one we spent draft capital on lol

Here is the one and only thing about this situation that worries me. For his entire head coaching tenure Mike Tomlin has never had to/ or wanted to, pull a QB for ineffectual play. Ben is walking wounded at maybe 70%, he plays because Ben at 70% is better than backups. Jones struggles he still plays the whole game. Vick gets in on an injury to Jones, can't throw a 5 yard quick slant but plays the whole game until Jones is back the following week. Mason is concussed in comes Duck, Mason is cleared to play but does so poorly still plays, he gets hurt again Duck, who struggles and still stays in until Mason is cleared again. Ben out for Covid-19 and Mason struggles to a tie game. Never pulled him for Dobbs or Haskins.

I'm not sure Tomlin knows when to pull a guy.

I'm hoping that Mitch wins the SB this year after throwing for 6000 yards and 69 td's. But, because we're dealing with the Rooney's, they'll trade Trubisky instead of admitting that they jumped the gun in drafting a crappy 1st rd Qb. Maybe we can get a team to give us a 2nd rd pick for Mitch on a one year deal. Get back some of the wasted draft capital.

It could happen. Not trying to be a downer. Let's face it.... Trubisky was drafted by the Bears who are not known for their development of QBs. McMahon is Bears most successful QB of the modern era and he's pretty much Dilfer, Rypien, Johnson, etc.
