I watched Tomlin's post game presser and he said he never even thought about putting Charlie in. He also said "yeah Byron took some hits but that's football". The press said that Lefty was evaluated for a rib injury. I watched Lefty's presser too and they asked him if he was hurt and he paused for a couple of seconds and said "I'm ok". I think that should tell you all you need to know.

I agree, he should have put Tomlin in. I know he said Charlie got very few reps in practice so maybe this is why he didnt? Leftwich's injury, in my opinion, cost us the game.

Yeah...lol. There is NO denying he was hurt and was not effective after his injury. I dont care what he or Tomlin says. He should have sat.

I remember reading the reason we kept Charlie is he knew the system and did not need a lot of reps in practice. Why pay an old guy to get splinters in his azz on the bench

One thing I wish the press would do is ask Tomlin if he thinks Wallace puts forth enough effort. I just can't stand Mike Wallace anymore. I just think he's SO VASTLY overrated. I've always liked him but it's just becoming clearer and clearer to me that he's a selfish player, not physical, and not willing to go the extra mile. Sadly I think Cowher could coach him up. I just don't see Tomlin doing it. He'll bench Dwyer for fumbling, which probably cost us a game by the way, but will he bench Wallace for it? I think not. I thought he held everyone to "the standard".

Okay, okay hahaha...I watched the entire game and had to get up and go to work...Obviously I meant Charlie  I bet Tomlin could have done a better job than Leftwich after he got injured though...

If Lefty could have threw a long ball to sanders that came way short then that would have put us in FG range.

i don't understand why the 2nd qb is not taking reps during the week , just to be ready if he has to come in , do you see the shape that our back up qb are in ?

they did lose their starting qb and their backup. as Steeler fans we will never give up hope, but it doesnt surprise me that most everyone else is.

if Ben only misses 2 or 3 games, they will still have a great chance. if he misses most of the season than they will have a tough road. they have a lot of teams on their heels.

Seriously. Does anyone really expect to win the SB without Ben leading the way? Yeah I know, Hostetler did it for the Giants and probably a few others but it ain't likely! I don't blame anyone picking against us.

If Wallace wasn't putting forth the effort I don't believe he would be in the game. Wallace is overrate compared to whom? Wallace is what he is and his production speaks for itself. People unfairly hate on Wallace because of his refusal to accept a contract that fans believe he should accept. No one knows if Wallace was being low balled compared to other WR's of his caliber.

When it comes to the business aspect of football players should be selfish. Look at the way organizations and fans are quick to discard players when they've out lived their usefulness on the field. There's nothing wrong if Wallace isn't a physical player. "Physical player" mentality is just another BS reason to hate on a player. It's been stated by people within the organization that Wallace has a strong work ethic. How should Wallace go about going the extra mile?

Wallace has flourished under this coaching staff.

Some people still haven't figured out what the standard means yet.

Compared to whom? He wants Larry Fitzgerald money. That must mean that HE considers HIMSELF on par with Larry Fitzgerald. Larry will catch anything you throw at him. MIKE TOMLIN called Wallace a "ONE TRICK PONY". Now would YOU pay a guy $100 million to do ONE thing? As far as "effort" when have you seen him fight for a ball? When have you seen him come back to the ball? Tomlin BENCHED Dwyer TWO games for fumbling. Will he bench Wallace? The Rooney's have a good record of doing their people right. Do you think if they HONESTLY believed that Wallace was worth what he was demanding that they would not give it to him? They offered him $50 million. If you can't live off $50 million you are a moron who deserves nothing. We have a team with a questionable D. A running back that's about to be a free agent and you're ok with giving ONE person as much as what Wallace is asking for? If Wallace wants that kind of money let him not fumble, let him catch things that might require a little effort on his part to catch, let him learn to be a well rounded player instead of a "ONE TRICK PONY". Look at AB. He has great hands. He runs great routes. He produces in multiple phases of the game. And magically the Rooney's pay him $48 million even when it's NOT his contract year. Does that not send you a message that MAYBE the Rooney's agree with a lot of the people who are critical of Wallace?
