Yes a draft that had 2 of its first 3 picks not take the field that season would get a GM fired.

Why won’t Metchie see the field this year? 8 months is enough time to get back open the field form an ACL.

And you dont know that a QB will sit on the bench. We are talking about Trubisky starting, not Ben.

ACL's are generally 2 years to be back to 100% and he just tore his in December. Fingers crossed that Bush makes it back to 100% this year. :)

I don't look for a 2nd round rookie QB to be able to beat out Mason or Trubisky this year. Certainly if it is another 2019 season when we lose both the Starting QB and the backup then Ridder would have a chance to see the field.

I remember last year wanting the Steelers to take a chance on that year's injury dropper CB Caleb Farley. He had rough 2021 rookie season with another town ACL, but maybe he will turn it around.

You said he won’t play, he’ll be playing and hes the 3rd string WR. Now you got a guy that will be ready to step in if they lose Johnson next season.

I hope Trubisky does well but he’s not un-benchable.

8 months is normal and a full season to get back to where you were, not 2 years.

I’m not a particular fan of the way out mock is going but Metchie will be playing this season, thats not a reason not to take him.

You are correct on time back, but I have not seen someone comeback 100% until about 2 years. I guess A. Peterson maybe the closest, and I believe that was a different injury. Some never comeback 100% ....especially mentally.

Per a National Library of Medicine study of NFL players with torn ACL’s done in 2019, the average time to return to the playing field is around 50 weeks.

So we give up a pick for a guy....at best .....with no set backs .....We won't see till December. Hell the season will be almost over.
If that's what You want....just wait till next year. Bama, LSU, or Georgia will have another one coming out just like Him.

Or he’s ready to start the season which by reports he is on track to do. Also, you draft for the present and the future. Metchie is too good to pass on especially in the 3rd rd because you have fantasies of a SB dancing through your head this coming season. If we only took that DB! We would have steam rolled everyone!

Better, not more. It’s not the size of the hair that counts (after all, it’s not the 80’s anymore).

Take that back. I can't help mine. That's why I always wear a hat. It keeps my mop pushed down. I guess I could cut it all off......

I dunno, but the way the 4th round players are flying off my "top players remaining" list...... I might be struggling for a pick for the Titans....:roflmao:

Only 5 more picks until the Steelers selection. Here are some possibilities.
OT - Dare Rosenthal 6'7" 330 from Kentucky.
OG - Justin Shaffer 6'4" 314 from Georgia
RB - Rachad White from Arizona State rated the best pass catching RB in the draft.
WR- If we double dip after taking Metchie, Tyquan Thornton the 4.26 speedster from Baylor is still available.
TE - Jake Ferguson 6'5" 250 from Wisconsin would be a solid choice.
DT - Marquan McCall a true NT at 6'3" 342 he has immense strength.
Edge - Alex Wright from UAB is a freak of nature at 6'7" 270.
ILB - Malcom Rodriguez the tacking machine from Oklahoma State was rated by PFF as the best LB in the Big 12.
CB - Pro Football Network still has two CB' s with 3rd round grades still available.
Akayleb Evans from Missouri and Demarri Mathis from Pitt.
Safety - Not a big need now but Verone McKinley III from Oregon is a ball hawk with 6 interceptions last season.
Again these aren't the only choices I'm just throwing some names out there.

I'm a big fan of Malcolm Rodriguez... Kid doesn't have eye opening athletic traits, but has the smarts, and is always around the football.... Just a football player.... Think Chris Spielman

If I read correctly, the Steelers are on the clock…. I like some of the names listed by @Hanratty#5 above, but haven’t looked at all yet. My gut is saying OL, DL or SS all backup positions….. but I’m still a bit indecisive
