Who didnt see this coming??

Many of us here were calling for it pre draft.

Get us a decent backup QB. 7 isnt going to play every game this year and Lefty or Charlie are not the answer.

NOBODY listened. Now we may lose 3 games or more because we have NO backup QBS.

I'm with you Myron! I think we should've taken Colt McCoy when we had the chance. I think he could've won that game tonight. Tomlin is stubborn to a fault.

 

I ask again....WHO? I am asking for 2 other backup QB's in the league that you would rather have?

Colt McCoy and let Lefty have the 3rd spot. Or give Matt Hasselbeck some money and bring him up here. Now we are starting to see how stupid it would be to give Wallace all that money he's asking for. We need more than just a receiver that's fast. We need WAY more than just that. What good is a receiver that's fast without a qb to get it to him? If Ben is hurt then the speed of Wallace means nothing.

 

I'm asking do you honestly believe that Lefty and Batch are the BEST backup qbs?

I think McCoy would have given us a lot better chance to win tonights game.

 

Myron, I didn't see this coming..... man was I wrong and blind, I thought Lefty was gonna lead us through the jungle but he didn't. Many bads can be thrown out but we really need Ben back!

 

The thing that really bothers me about that is that during the game they said the trainers weren't even coming to check on him. I guess only the stars get medical attention? Good grief I think it was obvious that he was hurt.

 

You are right slick we need 7 back but we also need a serviceable backup for when he cant go!!!

Totally agree!!! I have been calling for one for YEARS. Once Ben was racking up 50 sacks a season and it's partly because of HIS game style, I knew we needed a real guy back there. Batch and Leftwich were a good option till they started getting brittle as a potato chip. The we knew Dixon didn't have it.

What did they realistically think they could get with Batch or Lefty? A few years ago we were CRAZY LUCKY with those wins during Ben's bone headed suspension but we all know lightning doesn't strike twice.

If you look at any of the threads from earlier today that are talking about Ben, back-ups, Lefty and Batch one of the reoccurring themes is that why would you draft someone who wouldn't be playing for 4-6 years. That is the time frame that alot of people think Ben has left. However once again he has sustained a serious injury during the season and it will begin to take a toll on his body, however they just don't want to see it. I have asked the question for two years now when do they start looking for his successor because he had maybe two to three years playing left in him if he continued to rely on his talent and didn't learn to play the game in a way that doesn't leave him open to injury. The way he started the season gave me hope but again here we are looking at a bruised and battered Ben and nobody wants to discuss who could be next. Yet at the same time the talk about Troy being done and should just retire because his skills have diminished with his injuries is just bizarre. So Ben can play for 5 more years and win multiple SB's but Troy is done? Ponderous really ponderous.

 

Id take Brady Quinn over who we have now!!

Yes...I believe both Leftwhich and Batch are as good as any backups in the game.....Batch is the best #3 QB in the league by far IMO.

I want a young guy to bring a long as well.....I would love to see T. Pryor brought in here next year if the Raiders set him free.
