Daniel Jeremiah said that Kyle Hamilton ran a slower forty time at his pro day than he did at the combine, yikes.

If there are enough teams that convince themselves that all of his good film and production is a mirage, maybe he’ll fall to us. It won’t happen though. There are enough smarter teams drafting ahead of us to ensure that he’ll be gone by pick #10-15.

This should be the Steelers running to the podium if Hamilton is there.

other safeties have good tape too and have speed. the nfl has a way of exposing guys sometimes. if teams are passing there is probably a reason. playing at ND and playing in the pro's are two different things. i'm not saying he doesn't have worth but maybe he just doesn't deserve to go this high.

I heard on SNR they said Hamilton's forty was a 4.8 at his pro day , he might drop, Derwin James dropped to #17.

4.8? That's slower than Jordan Davis who is 130 lbs heavier.

Well, he ran an electronically timed 40 at the combine in the same exact conditions as everyone else. I don’t really trust pro day 40 times when they’re faster, so I’m certainly not going to worry if they’re slower. He’s plenty fast once he’s moving.

    Hamilton runs around 4.5.

He runs fast enough to cover a lot of ground. Look at the range on this second pick.

Oh it's OK for Hamilton 2 run slow against the competition He faced, but Burks who ran faster, and scorched SEC National Champs is 2 slow. LoL

    Game Speed > Timed Speed.

For that matter, Tyquan Thorton sure as all hell did not look like he was running in the 4.2s at any point during this past season with Baylor. Kyle Hamilton is a legit 4.5 player; times be damned. Anyone overlooking Kyle because of a silly speed score is going to regret it heavily.

For further reference on this; see Ed Reed's Timed Speed at the Combine versus the game speed he displayed.

awareness, quickness, and knowing your assignments helps tremendously with playing speed. some guys don't have great long speed but are quick. DJ, AB are good examples. they were 4.5 receivers but quick off the snap and fluid. they are hard to cover and it helps their game speed. quickly diagnosing a play can get a guy in position quicker then his straight line speed. most times it won't hurt a player but then there are times it does. limit those and they will have a good career usually. richard sherman was a good example of some of this. his 40 time sucked for a corner.

now, on the other hand those highlights could have gone against him just as easily in the nfl. fla.states qb probably isn't starting many games in the nfl and a good qb would have not under thrown those balls that he intercepted and it would have been bad tape for kyle. just a fine line there of who he would be going against at the next level as opposed to this level. high first round picks need to be near can't miss players. that's the hope from teams anyway. some teams love the timed speed. al davis used to always draft speed. some look at how he fits their scheme and what they will ask him to do. i don't think he fit's every teams criteria. so that limit's who takes him and where.

    Yep.

Regarding Treylon Burks, I would imagine some team is going to take him in Round One but I seriously doubt it is in the teens. Likely late 20s though if there is one team that would love to have his services, it is no doubt the likes of Buffalo. Now granted, all of the Bills receivers are six feet tall or below. However, that should not dissuade Sean McDermont from selecting him; Jahan Dotson being there no less. I do understand that Dotson is the better route runner but the Bills have that already in the likes of Diggs. Having two would be nice for certain but Treylon's possession abilities and physicality are exactly what Buffalo should be clamoring over at the table.

If he does not go to Buffalo.. I seriously doubt another team after them will make a play for him; Kansas City and Green Bay included though I have to go back and check my notes. Nabbing him in Round 2 is a steal.

If you remember, you and I spoke about where he will be drafted at the beginning of the 2021 season, I was saying it’s possible he drops to us and you were saying top 10. I think now after all the hype, you will be right but if he does drop and Steelers take him, I’ll be a very happy Steelers fan on draft night. Keep that Notre Dame pipeline flowing to the Steelers :yeehaw:

Well... if what Matt Miller stated about the some of the more notable scouts like himself being higher on him than the NFL is... there is just some hope yet. Still... he has to have a Top 30 visit as only Kevin Colbert was there at his Pro Day. If he does not, I seriously doubt his chances of being a Steeler are going to be good.

Most talented CB is in residence there. I don't know about the one that will have the best career, but easily the most overall talented coming out this year.

Stingley most likely solidified himself as a top 15 pick.
