There was a time boys ,and girls ...when You could actually fight, and unless You really messed up someone....no problem, but those times are long, long in the past.

Yes, or anything. I mean if Your the GOAT at CB you surely should lead in at least a few things.....besides saying Your the greatest CB ever, and tooting your own horn more than anyone.

 

To some his shortcoming which only is tackling isn't a big deal. To some that's almost like criticizing a running back for not being able to catch. That's not your primary responsibility. Deion was far and away the best ever at the most important aspect of the postion which is covering wrs.

 

That's not what determines who's the goat at a position. Emmitt Smith is the all time leader in all rushing categories. Is he the goat rb? Alot of people say no. Some don't even have Emmitt top 3. Bruce Smith all time sack leader? Greatest dline men ever? No. He doesn't lead in picks for example because they spent YEARS barely throwing his way.

 

I can think on my own. But I defer to those who have played. I don't try to act like I know more than them.

 

Excuse. There are more qualities for playing CB then picks.....Yet He leads in nothing, but Sheeple still say He's the GOAT CB....because they heard people say it, and they have heard people say it, and they have heard people say it, and so on.....till it becomes a legend, or even apocryphal.

 

I admire you for knowing your limitations and staying within them

 

Hell... add the likes of the legendary Dick "Night Train" Lane too. Without him, Willie Brown and Mel Blount... Corners like Deion Sanders do not get remotely the recognition.

 

Side Note:


Rod Woodson, Night Train Lane, Willie Brown and Mel Blount all made the corner position is what it is today; doubly so on Blount's and Night Train's behalf. As such, those four are the Mt. Rushmore of Corners as far as I am concerned and should be the measuring stick in which all corners are judged by. No doubt Deion Sanders was the greatest ever when it came to coverage.... but playing the Corner Position is a lot more than locking down a side.

 

With that logic why ever debate or question how a team does business?

I don't know more than nfl players when it comes to football. Nether does anyone on this board.

 

No it's because he's ability to cover and shutdown wrs was better than anyone else who ever played.

 

I compare how they do business to other teams. Prime example when the steelers were the only ones who wouldn't do high guarantees prior to TJ Watt. I criticized them for it because every other team had got with the times except them. They eventually changed their stance. Whenever I talk about that notice how I always reference other teams.
