I've had some that are OK. It's easier then mixing, or buying stuff. Though I've been on a Bloody Mary kick ,and I've not seen any already mixed. Well at least not where I shop.

Other than pre-made margaritas (because I'm lazy :lolol:), I've never had a pre-made cocktail I cared for, or thought was as good as if I made it myself.

I can whip up an Old Fashioned in a minute or 2. Not really saving me any time or effort. ;) Besides, I usually just take my liquor (whiskey, tequila or rum mostly) neat and have a beer to go with it.

But if you found some you like, go for it!

I will say that one of my favorite summertime cocktails is a Painkiller. But they are a PITA to make. Not so bad if you make a huge batch... but then you have to drink it all in a day or 2. They don't last.

    Recipe:

    4 oz pineapple juice
    1 oz orange juice
    1 oz cream of coconut
2-3 oz.s rum (traditionally Pusser's, but any good non-spiced rum will do)
Shake with ice and strain over ice
Sprinkle fresh grated nutmeg on top

At a beach bar once, I saw a bartender cheating the recipe. He just used Pina Colada mix instead of measuring out pineapple juice and cream of coconut. 4 parts, plus 1 part orange juice, 2-3 parts rum, shake, pour, some fresh ground nutmeg on top. Done. So, of course, I had to order one to see if it lived up to a real one. NOT BAD AT ALL!!! That guy is a damned genius. Saves so much time and effort (clean up mostly). Cream of coconut is so thick and messy. This is no muss, no fuss.

Go with 2 oz then. At least for your first. Most get weaker rums which is why the recipe calls for extra if need be (how much pain do you need to kill? ;)) But since Pusser's is 151, the original 2 oz recipe will be fine.

My memories of it are pretty foggy, but the one where somebody lost his nerve at the last second and doused his face and eyebrows in flaming 151 stands out.

We bought 180 proof to use as hand cleaner at height of covid. All we could fine at the time. Ended up making Limoncello out of it. Thankfully the water and sugar weakened it a bit. Turned out very tasty but of so strong. We now make our own lemon, orange, and lime cello's but with 100 proof. Ever visit Italy they have about 50 different varieties of the stuff.

    Flamming Dr. Pepper

Fill shot glass almost full with a good Amaretto then top with 151.

Lite the shot glass and drop into half full beer mug.

Then chug. Be careful not to let shot glass smash your front teeth.

The only pre mixed cocktail I can remember(?) drinking was pina colada when I was 21. When it was my turn to make the next batch, I added rum to it cause I didn't know it was pre mixed. I don't recall much after that...........of course, there may or may not have been cocaine involved.......
