Who? 38 year old Matt Ryan? Seriously?

Colts went from washed up, old Rivers to inconsistent Wentz to washed up, old Ryan. Yeah, the Colts are geniuses.

Best move the Colts made in the past 10 years was drafting Luck and we all know how that ended up.

Apparently this means the odd makers think we are worse than when we started free agency.

So, right now we are 60 to 1 to win the Super Bowl.

I have seen a lot worse in the pre-Ben era.

Except Ryan is 37 and it’s not the system that is holding him back.

    One playoff win
Nothing says the NFL won't do anything to him
Nothing says the 20+ civil suits won't happen
    And the cap space

I don't know why Cleveland did not make any of these pick "Conditional" based on performance or just simply not being suspended.

Trubisky is ten years younger than Ryan, he's also more mobile and cheaper, the Steelers didn't have to give up anything to get him either.

They did bring in a vet in Levi Wallace, they need to find a good CB in the draft, Pierre and Layne aren't the guys you want playing.

    Answer; desperation.

Cleveland is in "win now" mode thanks in part to their upcoming contracts; namely those in the form of Chubb and Cooper. Chubb's Cap Hit per OverTheCap is $14,850,000 in 2023 while Cooper's is $23,776,000 come 2023 as well. Remember that Amari's 2022 restructure means that the $18.88 Million that would have counted against the cap for Cleveland is now a Signing Bonus in 2022; more wiggle room for the Browns. More of this can be found via an article here. However... there is another problem all together; Denzel Ward. Remember, Ward is a 2023 UFA and the likelihood of him being on the roster with the likes of Deshaun Watson, Nick Chubb and Amari Cooper simply is not likely.

Yes, nabbing a number one Corner is more manageable than nabbing a Franchise QB. However, just because it is more manageable does not equate to being more simple. Heck, if Ahkello does not work out.. I would not mind for Pittsburgh making a play for Denzel myself.

You are correct regarding the civil cases for that is still to be determined. Regarding the league... unless they want another "Ray Rice" incident with the biblical amount of PR and "fan mail" to follow, I would imagine Watson is getting suspended. As for the Salary Cap, Amari's $18.88 Million was restructured for the sole purpose of not having that Cap Hit in 2022 as the Browns are also likely under the assumption that Watson will be suspended. Why pay that much to a QB that will not pay versus one that will the following season?! Never mind Watson alone, Mayfield is still on the roster and, unless the Browns trade him soon... they are still not looking too well cap wise heading into 2022 even with Amari's restructure.

None of this is the biggest factor. How Deshaun plays will be. Time will tell for certain.

Cleveland almost has to win this year... during which that a$$hole is going to be suspended.

I did say "win now" mind you. I did not necessarily mean just for 2023. Again, his suspension time is going to be what will decide the fate of the 2022 Cleveland Browns. Have to wait and see what the league's final verdict is.
