Been watching some Bears games. I like Mitch, he is a scrambler who can throw. Could be a Steve Young type if they surround him well. This is one of the most exciting offseasons ever.

watch this game. Granted it’s preseason, but trubisky is accurate, making good reads etc. I think he’s going to surprise some yinzers.

He was a free agent. He didn't have go to Buffalo. Why wasn't anyone with a qb competition or qb vacancy interested in him? I see guys knocking down doors to get guys who aren't free but trubisky couldn't get a job as a free agent?

The guy talking about he's going to surprise some people like the whole NFL doesn't have years of film on this guy and everyone said no thank you. The guy who just went to Cleveland that you keep trying to act like isn't that good is one of the main reasons trubisky is considered a bust.

That looked good and not bad all. Starting to feel no way we are not better on offense this year and we made the playoffs last year. Feeling good.

being that you’re the football analyst one would think you understood simple things in the game. Little things like not all player work in all systems. Players aren’t finished products. I think he will surprise some yinzers. I didn’t say he would make the hof.

We should be better. Super bowl contenders? Doubtful, but at least a competitive team. Assuming, we aren’t decimated by injuries again. Easily the worst season I can remember from an injury standpoint.

I hope You are correct. I've watched a bunch of Bears games, and I didn't see it. Also I didn't think much of Him in college. I couldn't believe He was drafted so high.
    Again I pray I'm wrong.

Why was Ben the 3rd QB on the Steelers depth chart his rookie year?
Why was Kurt Warner undrafted, and not make his first NFL start until 5 years after he graduated college?

Sometimes players are a backup because they aren't good enough to start.
But sometimes they are a backup for reasons independent of their ability.
(Like Allen being the franchise for Buffalo and staying healthy means no shot for Trubisky or anyone else.)

The drama will be if Pickett drops to 20. What do the Steelers do there? If he doesn't, the Steelers have so many holes on this team, it will be BPA at that point.

Ben was the 3rd qb as a rookie. Not a backup AFTER STARTING in the nfl for multiple seasons. Kurt Warner same thing. He didn't look like trash on the NFL level, get cut, become a backup, then a starter again. Trubisky was a free agent last yr. Why couldn't any of the teams give him a shot to start?

Correct all players don't work in all systems but when teams have a guy they feel shows promise they'd either tailor the system to said guy or get a coach to bring the best out of the guy. And the saints didn't have a true starting qb. Smart as Sean Payton is offensively why didn't he get mitch if it was all about the system? He took a backup role last yr cause no one wanted him as a starter.

    Well Nagy was fired

It’s irrelevant what Payton did, too many variables to make it black and white like you are trying to.

Mitch isn’t going to suddenly be a top tier QB but he could have a Tannenhill type rebound which would make the Steelers competitive with the team they are building.

Kurt Warner got cut by the Rams went to the Giants and eventually lost his job to Eli Manning. The Giants released him and he went to the Cardinals where he lost his job to Josh McCown. After winning his job back the next year, he was then benched in place of Matt Leinhart. He never won his job back until Leinhart went on IR. It was the following year that Warner got his second wind and had the Superbowl run with the Cards.
So Warner did have an up and down career in which he lost his starting job many times.
