Well after the signings I would list these as the biggest needs:

    1. SS
    2. CB
    3. ILB
    4. WR

We obviously could still see a QB in round 1. But we likely wont go OL first since we signed a stud G, got a starting C, and locked in Chuks at T. Still some FA period left to be played out, but as of now starting ILB, starting SS, starting ILB are the biggest needs.

    - We dont even have a starter signed for SS (which I assume will change in the next couple days), but once it is signed we only need depth there. I wouldn't expect a top 2 pick at S unless we dont sign a S in FA.

    - We need another starting CB alongside Witherspoon and Sutton. Maulet is quality depth. I would expect us to go the draft pick route here.

    - We have 2 starting ILB's but they sucked last year. Need another guy to round out the group. I'd expect us to go the draft pick route here as well with an outside chance at bringing in a reasonable vet if we cut ties with Shobert.

    - We have DJ and Claypool locked in as starters, but nothing else. I would imagine a draft pick AND a signing to be made. Possibly a higher pick if the signing is low end, and a low end pick if we bring Juju back or someone of that caliber.

We have the money and draft capital for all this. Top 3 rounds are likely drafted from the 4 positions above with an outside chance at 1st round QB. CB, ILB, and WR being the most likely options for top 3 picks this year. I'm totally cool with that.

    :hmm:

I am basically holding off my first mock of the 2022 Draft until Saturday. Unlike in previous seasons, a lot and I mean, A LOT of moving pieces league wide; some at prices that are REALLY OUT THERE if I am being honest. Will have the Top 5 and Top 32 Post Combine soon thereafter. Now, how does any of either of these articles have anything to do with the Steelers?? A bit if you are behind the prospects.

Given what has happened already, I seriously doubt someone like Levi Wallace greatly alters Pittsburgh's plans to draft a CB; doubly so in Round One. There are other good CBs in the class but Derek Stingley Jr, Andrew Booth Jr and Ahmad Sauce Gardner are the big three. Even if someone like Stingley Jr falls (pending the LSU Pro Day), I would consider him. If not him, Booth Jr for certain.

I just threw all of my mocks in the trash I usually picked Zion Johnson or Kenyon Green.

There is a possibility Green being available in the early second. That said, doubt the team trades up to get him. If the team is to trade up to get someone, it will be a QB. Who that is... I cannot say.

DL is becoming a nursing home. Need to get younger. WR room is people I never heard of, after Johnson and Claypool. Could use a good Tackle, they look good at center and guard. I think they addressed a lot of needs in FA. Especially need a good edge rusher to team with Watt and Jack to make life more interesting for Watson, Jackson, and Burrows.

DL, OT, WR, S, OLB, ILB, CB. In that order. I simply don't think we are in the QB draft this year. Have to see what we have 1st.

Rd1:DT Jordan Davis or OTPenning orJameson Williams
Rd2 DTTravis Jones or OT Bernard Raihmann
Rd3: DL Bonito or OT Lucas/Faalele 0r WR Christian Watson/ Mechiethats how I'd spend my three picks barring a surprise fall of some stud who shouldn't have been there.

I'll be tempted to take the Center kid at 20 too. If Fabis and Penning and Jameson are all gone.

I know we got 2 IOL in FA. But those 2 can battle Dotson and Green for Starte at the 2 Guard positions and The Center kid can anchor the line for the next 12 years in the Steelers Center tradition.

So he is on play in my book.

Not a fan of Myles Jack? Love the CB as the #1 need right now.

Right now we have Bush, Jack, Spillane, Johnson, Allen, and Gilbert all under contract and ready to play ILB.

Right now I am more concerned about the depth on the outside compared to the inside.

I think they did a good job of plugging the biggest holes on the roster in free agency.

Our needs in no particular order of importance for me are:

Offensive Tackle: Chuks and DMJ are the only experienced guys on the roster, if there is a really good OT there in the first I would not be surprised if they pull the trigger with a view towards moving on from Chuks after 2022

Strong Safety: I think Edmunds will be back or they will sign somebody else but if that doesn’t happen this is a huge need

Wide Receiver: I expect they’ll try to make a value free agency signing (AJ Green / Cole Beasley type) AND draft somebody in the first three rounds

Cornerback: They’ve shored this area up well in free agency but it would be great to have a young stud at this position

NT / DT: they have tremendous depth here already so if they are going here I expect it’ll be early for a big time prospect

OLB / Edge: Like OT they have zero depth, this is a sneaky need that very few are talking about

QB: If Willis or another QB they like falls out of the top 10 this is a no brainer

They’ve set it up so that they can go BPA, their free agency has been very impressive in fairness, they looked for value and I dont think they did anything stupid. All of the guys they brought in can be moved on from easily if they dont work out. Whoever takes over from Colbert as GM is not going to be saddled with a half dozen toxic contracts.

I would say SS bigger need at the moment (at least until a starter is signed). They likely draft a guy at the position at some point anyways. CB will get looks for an early pick. We have 3 starters but all are just solid/decent. Might be worth taking a swing at a high end guy. DL just isn't a need at all, idk why its being thrown around. I understand the love for Davis, but if we take a DL in the first three rounds we're trolling. WR is another option. I would love to take a swing at Garrett Wilson, but I'd wager he's long gone by 20. Otherwise we're just looking at a pick in the first 3 rounds and a value signing.

There are others than Davis...that I think We could get in the 3rd. We can't have what happened 2 our DL last year happen again...with us scrambling 2 scrap together something half A$$Ed. JMO
