I have a hard time believing he doesn’t get suspended at least half a season - likely this year. The trade will help the Browns for sure but they’re likely giving up one season on top of the picks and money.

    Wentz fetched a first.

@biggbunch68@biggbunch68 maybe you should learn how to quote people.

We are talking about whether the deal is worth it for the Browns. If they win the SB like the Rams just did, it’s worth it to them. I’m personally glad the Steelers didn’t give up that much.

Hysterical to see some fans turn themselves into a pretzel to downplay this move for the Browns.

Fact is, they are a much better team today then when yesterday began. In the short term, this makes them a top football team, in the long term it will cripple them.

Gee, that was so hard to admit that.

Didn't Watson take the Texans to a 4-12 in 2019?

They got rid of Hopkins and it went down hill.

It does make them better - after he serves his suspension.

Won't deny Watson can play ball but those stats were gotten by playing one of the weakest schedules in the league in 2020.

This year the Colts got (2) 3rds, one of which is conditional and can be a 2nd depending on snaps played in 2022 they also swapped 2nds (5 spot difference). The 2022 1st round pick that the Colts gave the Eagles last year will be a lesson that other teams will consider. They may get a 2nd, but I wouldn’t do that.

:this!: There is a whole forum called "General NFL Talk..." That's where Browns talk, and any other talk of any team besides the Steelers belongs... :this!:

I stand corrected. The highlights from that year seem very reminiscent of the Raiders vertical passing attack with the CFF connections being the most dangerous. Some the early season highlights had personnel groups similar to the last few years that Ben liked to use but without the mobility, teams jamming at the line, losing their man as the play developed and Watson staying mobile until he saw a guy open and slung it to them.

That's true for everything else except qb. You don't have to be in the best shape to read a defense and throw a football accurately. That's why Brady is still playing at 45 with not a lick of athleticism

Christ, you act as if they traded for vintage Elway. Better to what degree? Wentz would have been an upgrade over him.

There are more questions than answers with this guy. If they had gotten him for a first, second and a warm body, I'd say it was still a little risky, but one worth taking nonetheless. To give up what they have plus the cap hit for a narrow window with all the legal troubles this guy has? Good luck and God Bless. It isn't downplaying, it's sound reasoning.

So we are just assuming he will be the same player after all this time off. And assuming he will actually get to play this season. Honestly I wouldn't give that contract to anyone, let alone someone I had to give up that much in draft capital to get, who hasn't played in a year and is bringing loads of off field garbage with him. I get why everyone would just assume that anything the Browns try will work out great for them though, given their long track record of success.

Does Watson make an impact on the Browns? Or, does Cleveland have an impact on Watson? If he impacts the Browns, they are immediately better. If the Browns impact Watson, they manage to destroy yet another QB.

If browns win a super bowl then all the teams are going to start following that model

I am not sure what you are trying to say. My pronouns are fine. I assume everyone is aware I was referring to Watson given that this is a Watson thread.

Assuming may be the problem... Extreme superlatives like "everybody" may be another... I was following these developments (Plus I'm extremely smart :roflmao::roflmao::roflmao:)
However, everybody who isn't, has no idea of whom you're speaking... It's not as though other QB's aren't mentioned in this thread...

Whatever. Find something more irrelevant to gripe about.
