Yup. I do not understand them letting him and Whitehead go elsewhere for relatively cheap deals. I have a bad feeling they might actually stick with what they have at inside linebacker.

If they want to turn TJ 20 million into a signing bonus. Then I could see us getting Miles. But if not, then we don't have much cap left

I have been saying this long before the Combine good sir. Have not changed my stance since; hence why you do not see him in my sig. Devonte Wyatt could be though. He is not nearly the run stuffing machine that Jordan Davis is but he offers more upside as a three down Lineman.

There are plenty of other moves they can make, starting with cutting Schobert.

I would take Lloyd, I don't want Dean, there were some media people at the combine saying Dean looked small.

Maybe they're planning on filling their ILB need in the draft.

Should Myles Jack be the final FA target? He's 26. When healthy, he's been really good.

Former Bears’ cornerback Artie Burns is going to the Seahawks on a one-year $2 million deal, per his agents @agent and @nflrecord.

I like most of the the FA moves and what has been done with the oline and DB so far. Wish they would not have resigned O’Chloroform. They must see something I didn’t. Ben was seeing too much of the front of his jersey and not enough of the back during plays.
I think Trai Turnstile is gone, prob Finney too.
Will Trubisky be significantly better than Reindeer would have been? Who knows, but they could have used that dough to shore up other areas. And when you sign a lot of FA you may lose some draft picks over it.

You don't lose draft picks over signing free agents. You just don't acquire comp picks.

I think we are being very hard on Chuks. The deal is set up so they can get out of it if needed and I do think he improved last year, after being a huge disappointment earlier in his rookie deal.

He went up against Von Miller and Myles Garrett at different times last year and he at least broke even with them. He was probably their best lineman last year (faint praise I know).

Don’t get me wrong I was frustrated with the penalties throughout 2021 and surprised when I saw the size of the deal he got as well but there were two other teams in on him willing to give him similar money, and he is still only 24. His limitations as a run blocker would seem to be at odds with other things they are doing in free agency but I’m going to keep an open mind in relation to Chuks. Giving him this deal gives them additional flexibility in the draft and will give them time to get a younger guy ready if needed.

That dude is no insider, just one of those guys that likes to pretend he is.

No one else is reporting this.

What about letting him go and trying to pick up Allen Robinson? He had a decent connection with Trubisky when they were together. Probably too expensive I suppose.

There is plenty of evidence that Trubisky is a significant upgrade over Rudolph. Not only does the team seem to have no faith in Rudolph, the players don't, either. Every public comment we have seen from the players has shown excitement over who they might bring in from outside to play quarterback. I don't recall seeing any of them supporting Rudolph.

True, you are correct. I was thinking of “losing” a comp pick they would have probably obtained for someone signing JuJu, in the sense of not getting one because of the Steelers signing FAs. He is the most significant one, I think.
I expect JuJu to ink with someone momentarily.

Their numbers are actually pretty close, though there is no way I think Rudolph is any good, or as good as Mitch. One factor in favor might be that signing Trubisky made it easier to get other FA to sign here.
