Just finished reading this book by P.D. Eastman called "Go Dog, Go"
A fascinating read, about Americans and their dreams of wealth and prestige.

Great. I love longer books. I hate getting into a book, and then bam it's over. It's why I don't read many short stories anymore. Well except rereads of H.P. Lovecraft, Robert E Howard, or Sir Arthur Conan Doyle.

I agree with these authors for short stories - I'd have to add in Ray Bradbury, one of my favorites. Got to meet him back in the 80's and he autographed my copy of October County, a collection of his short stories. I read a lot of murder mysteries - all of John Sandfords, Lawrence Sanders and of course all the Reacher novels. Back in the day, read a lot of Follett as well as Robert Ludlum.

K.L. Slater. Just found her by chance. Great psychology fiction if your into that sort of book. She is a writer from England. Damn if I'll ever get use to them putting "tea" in the oven. I think it's dinner time to them.

Cool story about her. She kept sending books to publishing houses but kept getting rejected. Went back to college and got a degree and amazingly at age 40 her books got accepted.

I decided to read something a little different from what I normally read. I borrowed a Kindle copy of Murder on the Orient Express from our library as I've never read it before, and I haven't seen any of the movie versions.

I'm reading Jeffrey Deaver's latest. Sad to say, he's starting to write like James Patterson.....

Almost forgot, I finished this several days ago.

I know it's a classic, and I enjoyed it, but it wasn't as engrossing as I hoped it would be. I don't regret reading it, I was just expecting it to pull me in a little more than it did.

Still, I'll probably read some more of her books at some point. I've heard "And Then There Were None" is one of her best, so maybe I'll read that after I read a few other books.

There's some twists but, Deaver seems like he's not trying very hard on this one. It's a Lincoln Rhyme story.
