Awesome...I didn't want Watson,Winston, Garopollo, Baby Hands, or Willis....Get a couple OL, and build the D through the Draft... LETS GO!

Watson is the one I would have taken however if they were not going to trade for a franchise guy then rolling the dice on a guy like this is perfect.

I was worried we would waste picks chasing a QB this draft.

Time to sort the line and fill some gaps before next year!

Not bad. I think this means that they're also grabbing a QB in the draft.

I’m on the fence on this decision on one hand Mitchell hasn’t been better than average for the time he has been in league in my opinion. But then again we don’t have many other options that makes sense. Team and money wise curious to see how it will turn out

I like the move. I think he still has a lot of upside and doesn’t set the team back at all. He will be 28 in August and it’s a 2 year deal so they really have nothing to lose by taking a shot and doing this. This probably signals the end of Mason Rudolph. They are bringing Trubisky in here to be the starter so the sooner they move on from Mason now the better.

I've seen enough of trubisky to believe that he actually still has upside..... We still need to draft a QB, but at least we won't desperately reach for one in the first rd

Im absolutely fine with this. It signals rebuild whilst saying they're not rebuilding. This been my preferred route all along. Hopefully there's some linemen out there in FA.

Do they stay Pickett if he's at 20 now? Or Willis? Or do they hope mitch turns into tannehill in Tennessee?

Obviously between MT, Mason, Haskins, and Dobbs someone is out. IMO it's a battle between MT and draft pick and one of the other 3 gets cut, maybe two of them.

Or.....they don't like what's available to them in the draft, pass on QB this year, and keep MR, DW, and JD.

Mid level veteran guy for cheap (assuming) for 2 years, I like it.

Trubisky gives you options and keeps you from doing something stupid in the draft.

I love it. I brought up Trubisky a long time ago (maybe even the first one on TSF) as Ben's replacement. I'm driving his bandwagon. You can blame me if this doesn't work out. :D

I've been on the record in several threads he is the one I wanted out of the FA QB's not going through a trade.

    Like this!

He will be the starter. I believe its a 2 year deal, no numbers yet.

Pickett will be picked in the top 10... maybe top 5. Steelers drafting Pickett at 20 is a pipe dream.

I think they take whichever one is there. If neither is, maybe grab one of the second tier guys in the second or third round. If they aren't there, you roll with Trubisky, MR, DW, and JD this year and look at next years class.
    Trubisky gives you options....cheaply.

Agree.... if Steelers waste a pick on QB in the draft.... that means bye-bye Haskins.

That's the real question. I haven't seen terms of the contract yet. We don't know if he was cheap or not.
