OT Kellen Diesch from Arizona State is 6'7" 300lbs and just ran a 4.89 forty. That's a lot of mass moving at that speed.

Maybe even more impressive was Trevor Penning who at 6'7" 325 lbs just ran a 4.91.

If it helps the offense to score (maybe even on the opening drive for once) i'm okay with it.

Undersized even by 3-4 OLB rushers but among the best of the best overall in terms of his pass rushing chops. For that matter, he is top three for me; Aidan Hutchinson and George Karlaftis being better than him but by only the thinnest of margins.

He is tailor made for being a rush 'backer in the 3-4. That said, he is, in a lot of ways, like Quincy Roche but more athletic; a pass rush specialist only. He will need time to round out his game but sending him out on pass rushing only allows him to manhandle most Offensive Tackles.

Would not mind taking a late filer on him. That said, pass rushing chops like his, with a good foundation to match, are taken early and often. If he tests well.. no way he gets out of Round 3.

    It would mean depth.

Nick is the classic case of "damned if you do, damned if you don't". If he works out well, that is another fine EDGE to have in the Steelers Defensive Rotation. If not, well!!...

Not exactly as I am seeing it. T.J. Watt and Alex Highsmith... this is more or less what the team has working for it right now in terms of starting caliber EDGE players. There are others like Taco Charlton and Derrek Tuszka but those two are much better served as depth players and not would classify as an ideal back up plan for the team. Remember that the Steelers did not have a player like Melvin Ingram in the second half of the season. Without Watt, teams just doubled Heyward and/or Highsmith if need be as the other players were not much of a threat at all.

Drafting Nick would change that in a big way. He is much more developed than either Charlton or Tuszka could ever hope to be in terms of his pass rushing. He would be a great addition to spell either T.J. or Alex and keep up the pressure overall.

    That was my first thought.

What kind of season did Highsmith have? Not really a good sign that I can’t recall his play standing out to me. Either that or just getting older and can’t remember **** anymore.

6'3" 240 lbs but has great speed. He would be used as a pure pass rusher.

He didn't really stand out, but His play definitely got better as the Year proceeded.

I think he’s a solid player for a guy with 2 years in the system. I’m not at all worried about him. Now, backup edge guys? Yeah they worry me a bit.

I kind of liked Snoop Conner when watching all of those Ole Miss games to watch Corral. He looks jacked up. Did 27 bench reps.

That's a lot of bench reps for a RB. Would he be an improvement over Ballage, Snell or McFarland? I don't know how he couldn't be.

    Yep.

If anything, I would rather just have Interior Lineman in general run the 10 yard split three times. That metric is important; explosive capability. The 40 yard dash is just redundant at this point for the group as a whole.

Just get good players. I dont think this kid is a first round player. Maybe mid round? We could just think he is going to be good and want to have some more good players. Cant have too many quality pass rushers.

Bro lol Edmunds is fine. We can pick a different player in FA that will also be fine (and costs the same) if we dont like him. I dont think we need to spend a high end draft pick on the position though. Find a solid player in the 5-6 mil/yr range and call it that. Someone who can come down and play the run and be a decent player in coverage. Not gonna have studs all over the field and we already have a stud ballhawk FS on the back end that we are probably going to pay good money to. Just find someone that works well with Minkah.

Second guy... smart kid. "I'm gonna do what they pay me to do, and do it the best I can". Respect the hell out of that attitude.

Yeah, we didn't do a lot of that scoring thing last year. At least not until the 4th quarter of most games lmao
