Get back to me when there are more than the 3 current QB’s in the league that fit what I am looking for.

And anyone that says they wouldn’t want Allen as our next QB is either lying through their teeth or flat out insane.

Hell, Allen may have won it this year if not for his coach blowing the game against the Chiefs.

He plays for a good organization on a well coached team and outside of Steelers Nation is wildly thought of as a top QB.

Winning a SB is not that far fetched. He’s a better QB than Flacco and they won one with him.

no that's untrue. just because a qb can run doesn't make him a running qb. mahomes is a passing qb that can run if needed.

but he didn't win. 646 passing attempts by josh allen this year. he's a passing qb first and can run. 122 rushing attempts. 6X the pass attempts nearly. of course we would want a josh allen but not every qb that can run is josh allen. most people or teams would want tom brady too but every qb isn't tom brady. he didn't just almost win 7 of them or get to almost 10 of them.

No ****. Quoting rushing yards is stupid. No one is saying draft a QB that HAS to run, that's called a running QB.

I think we can all agree that Ben was a mobile QB, well the year he won his first SB he had less than 100 yards rushing.

Through not fault of his own, he did everything possible to win and his coached ****ed it up.

So wait, are we moving Allen out of the running QB now, too? Have to keep whittling down the filed to fit the narrative.

His coaches did **** it up. Royally. I for one hadn’t put him into the same category as Jackson. Allen can win a SB without being a major part of the designed run game. I’d love to have a Josh Allen type.

Not Me. I've been adamant about J. Allen. Any Qb you design runs for I don't want.
Now later when they decide He doesn't have 2 run 2 play I may change My mind.

Do any of you old timers remember Bobby Douglass the running QB for Bears back in the 70's? He had one year in which he ran for 964 yards in a 14 game season. Like Al Bundy he had a game in which he ran for 4 TD's. Douglass was a lefty with a cannon for an arm but was wildly inaccurate. He finished his career with 36 TD passes and 64 picks.

Man you're crazy if you wouldn't take Josh Allen on our team. That guy could be the best QB in the league next year. The design run thing has to be something you can let go of. He's a top 5 passer as a pure QB, he's also an excellent runner. The Bills use his talents perfectly.

That’s like owing a sports car and never opening it up.

Why wouldn’t you want to use all the weapons in your QB’s arsenal.

Just because You have a engine doesn't mean You run it at full throttle all the time. Not good on it.
Just when you need it. Like a Qb that can run. Just when You need it.

His isn't something new in the nfl. Tarkington, douglas, stewart, young, Vick , newton, cunningham, mcnair, mcnabb, elway, haskins, Bradshaw had 444 rushes for over 2200 yards and a 5.1 per carry average, these are just a few names. this is far from a new wave of the future.

Well Goff was never a runner, as he has averaged 2 rushes per game in his career. Lots of people thought he was really good since he had two pretty excellent seasons back to back. Turns out he was the product of a system/offense. As for Newton... He was a good QB. He wasn't a perennial MVP candidate (although he did win one on one excellent season) or an elite player outside of his MVP year, but he was basically Ryan Tannehill that would score you an extra 10-12 TD's a year rushing. Also pretty similar to Donovan McNabb if McNabb's career was 2-3 years shorter. Newton was primarily used in short yardage situations or in the red zone as a runner. Certainly was a back end top 10 QB during the majority of his career, his game just fell off a bit the last 2 years and he is a back up. Newton was pretty good tho. Cant judge everyone against HoF players. You can be a really good QB and not be Tom Brady, Peyton Manning, Ben Roethlisberger, etc.

He was a polished thrower. Jackson is not.

Jacksons game will keep him in the injury category as of any running QB eventually. Good to have that threat but not a steady diet. Jackson needs that steady diet. I feel Allen who is a much more of a polished thrower will start to limit his running.

Don’t think I would use polished and Flacco in the same sentence. He had an outstanding post season run but outside of that, he was an ok QB.

Prior to this season, the most games he missed in a year was one. I think combined with this season he has missed about 6 games. His injury this year that kept him out multiple games came on a roll out and and ankle tackle. Routine QB play.

I get it, he plays for the Ravens and you guys don’t like Jackson but odds are good he will win a SB some day. It’s a good organization with a good coach and the opinion of Jackson is much higher outside of Steelers Nation.

To be honest where we are drafting if Desmoind Ritter is there at 20 I might take a run at him.

opinions are like butt holes, everybody has one and they all stink. someday, maybe, could be, all are not what a team should want. we do this every year. heck mason could win one too. there is a good chance allen or jackson don't win one. there is a chance mahomes doesn't win another one. it's not an exact science where one way is better then the other. what we do know is the guys that run a lot have not won many if any super bowls lately. through history not many have. why now it's a must have style? in the nfl you have to be able to throw the ball effectively every week.
